Budapest Celtic Tigers were looking to bounce back from opening game defeat when they met The Puskas Dolls in Round 2 of Group A. The latter had earned a draw in the first game but both teams went into the game looking for their first goals of the tournaments.

If they drew blanks first time out they certainly had their shooting boots on in this fixture. Dani Botlik gave the Hungarians a 1-0 lead before Emmet Egan leveled things up for the Irish. Botlik restored the lead at 2-1 and it was the Tigers who held the advantage at half-time.

After the break they were to increase that lead to 3-1 through Adi Mohl but The Puskas Dolls were not done yet. Emmet Egan (6 goals in the 2012 Valencia Fives) was in goalscoring form again to reduce arrears to 3-2 but his goals were not quite enough to earn a second point as Budapest Celtic Tigers ran out 3-2 victors.

In the next game we had another two teams looking for their first victory of the day. BBFC1 had made a solid start by picking up a point in their opening fixture but hoped they would not follow the same result as The Puskas Dolls in their second game by following this up with a loss. Wokingham FC were looking to avenge opening game defeat.

With the game underway it was BBFC1 who struck the opening blow when Tom Obafemi found the net. It was a lead they were to hold until the break and to increase after the interval when Ashley Hamilton made it 2-0. At the back Davids Coleman kept his second clean sheet of the day. They moved into 2nd place on 4 points. Wokingham FC had competed well without reward but still plenty of time left for them.

The final game of Round 2 was a top of the table clash between Shahs of Sunset and Les 5 Salopards. The prize for the winners was a 2 point lead at the top of the table. A draw would not be the worst result seeing a 3-way share of the lead with BBFC1.

The match proved to be a close contest between two quality teams and we reached the turnaround with nothing to separate them – all square at 0-0. After the break there was to be a decisive goal. Les 5 Salopards had won 1-0 in the first game but this time they were on the receiving end as Gabriele Nardo struck the winning blow. Like David Coleman for BBFC1, Samir Benyounes had two clean sheets to his name and Shahs of Sunset were looking to be in a healthy position at the summit of Group A.
