The
2014 Bratislava Fives was our debut in the Slovakian
capital and what a successful weekend it was!
We had glorious weather, glorious football, 24
great teams and a fantastic host city.
We were treated to a sensational Cup Final with
CIS Committee of Belarus gunning down their second
title of the season against Skidmarks who were
hoping to secure their third eurofootballfives.com
title. It was the team from Belarus who clinched
it 2-0 to add Bratislava Fives success to their
win at the Budapest Fives in May.
The Plate Final was contested by Budapest Celtic
Lions and GSF Drunkerz. Budapest Celtic (their
Tigers squad) finished runners-up at the 2014
Budapest Fives to FC Radbroke and they were to
be the bridesmaids again as GSF Drunkerz took
the victory in an epic tussle. The game finished
2-2 and was eventually won by the Slovak team
on penalties, 6-5.
The tournament marked eurofootballfives.com's
fourth 24-team event (after 2012 Berlin Fives,
2012 Valencia Fives, 2014 Budapest Fives) and
saw our fifth ever "Trophy" tournament
(there was also 25-teams in Barcelona 2013). This
was a third tier competition within the tournament
to complement our traditional "Cup"
and "Plate" competitions. The Trophy
Final was won by Ziar Crew defeating their
compatriots Fireball 5-1 to take the Trophy honours.
