Round 3 started with Rat Goblins taking on The Never Tarps. Both teams were looking for the first victory of the day and in the case of the former – their first goal of the day.

It was first blood to The Never Tarps as Alex Harding grabbed his second goal of the tournament. In shades of the last game where Ryan Rook grabbed a first-half hat-trick, Harding moved closer to emulating this feat by making it 2-0 before the referee's whistle intervened for the break.

Alex Harding was not to be denied though and he completed his hat-trick in the second half to put The Never Tarps on course for victory. There was to be joy for the Rat Goblins though as they broke their duck with James Burton firing home but, alas for them, it was a goal in a losing cause. The goal though did attract arguably the biggest cheer of the day so far. Final score, 3-1 to The Never Tarps.

We went into Game 8 of Group C with two teams who had both won one and lost one to date. Those two teams were GSF Drunkerz and Budapest Celtic Tigers.

If you want to know more about GSF Drunkerz here's how they describe themselves in their own words: “ We are bunch of friends, who attended GSF high school but knew each other better from pubs of Žilina. We started to meet in local gym every Saturday to make our bodies healthier and to get rid of Friday's hangover - we play football most of the time. We are GSF drunkerz and if you could beat us on football playground by some coincidence, there is no way you could beat us on pub playground. We will drink your drinks before you'll order them!”

So, there you have it – a team that drink's to get rid of the hangover the night before – could there be any other team or any other philosophy more suited to eurofootballfives.com competition?

Maybe this was reflected in their results as they lost their first game but bounced back with a win. As their hangovers were dissipating the results were improving and they made it two wins out of two against the Budapest Celtic Tigers.

A solitary Martin Volek strike in the first half was enough to split the two teams and win all 3 points for GSF Drunkerz.

The next game was the big one in Group C with Fritzl Palace meeting Shahs of Sunset. Both teams had secured maximum points to date, both teams were yet to concede and they had scored 13 goals in the process between them – Shahs of Sunset edging it by one strike. This could well prove to be the Group C decider.

It was an evenly contested opening period and the two teams turned around at the break, like so many top of the table clashes, all square at 1-1. Ryan Rook's 5th goal of the day for Fritzl Palace and Anes Jusic's second of the day cancelling each other out.

Shahs of Sunset took the initiative after the break when Anes Jusic scored again for 2-1. The Shahs then showed how good they were at leading from the front when Marc Guenez opened up a cushion at 3-1. Paolo Ferrari added to his tournament tally to make it 4-1 and they had produced a very convincing performance.

Shahs of Sunset opened up a three point lead at the top of the table and were well on course for Cup qualification. Fritzl Palace should not be too disappointed though as they sat in second position with two games to play and their fate very much still in their own hands (or should we say feet?)
