Round 3 started with Murder on Zidanes Floor taking on Fireball. Murder on Zidanes Floor were currently at the foot of the table but it was still relatively early days in Group D – having said that, a win was certainly the order of the day now.

Fireball had been behind in games and lead in games but, although unbeaten, could not pull out a victory. Could this be third time lucky for them? In Round 2 Fireball hit the front and they did so again in Round 3 when Zdeno Zavodny struck. It was a lead they held until half-time but could they hold it until full-time?

No, is the short answer. Dan Brayson put the scores level at 1-1 and that's how it stayed. These two teams in six games between them now had five draws to show for their efforts showing what a well matched pool Group D was.

CIS Committee were in action again when they took to the field against Saga Louts. The team who had travelled from Minsk were sitting pretty at the top of Group D and another win here would give them a huge six point cushion at the summit of the league table.

Saga Louts would be disappointed to have just the one point to show from their efforts thus far and this was hardly the fixture they would have wanted to get more points on the board. They faced an uphill struggle from the start and at half-time had a mountain to climb as goals from Vitali Ledenev and Aliaksandr Chaikouski put their opponents 2-0 up.

After the break Vitali Ledenev was on target again to make it 3-0 to CIS Committee and another victory was in the bag for the league leaders. They moved on to 9 points and maintained their 100% record.

For Saga Louts, it was 3 games down and 2 to go – two more games to decide their fate in the knock-out stages of this competition.

The Spider Mans and Eagle FC and Tommie's Guns met in an all-England contest between the teams in 2nd and 4th position at the start of Round 3. Despite being unbeaten, Tommie's Guns trailed their opponents by one point in the table. The Spider Mans and Eagle FC were still in second place (now shared with Fireball) without kicking a ball in this round of fixtures and had a chance to make second position their own with a second successive victory.

They set about their task well and with real zeal and relish. They forged a 2-0 lead by half-time as Steve Wildman and Ryan Stevens put them in control. With two draws in a row, Tommie's Guns looked like they could be staring down the barrel of defeat for the first time today. The Spider Mans and Eagle FC had the trigger pulled and it was Sam Walker who fired the killer shot to make it 3-0.

The Spider Mans and Eagle FC were making steady progress up the Group D table. For Tommie's Guns, they remained in fourth position but Cup qualification was moving away from them.
