#Burst It (Eng)

It was 3rd versus 6th at the start of Round 3 with DHL Prague meeting Dynamo Clapham. For the winners there was a chance to go top of the table as only three points separated top and bottom in what was looking to be a very evenly contested Group A.

DHL Prague came into the game with a bit of momentum having just picked up their first three points whilst Dynamo Clapham were moving through the gears going from defeat to a draw. Could they move into first gear with a win?

The short answer is yes they could. Ben Spears opened the scoring in the first half for Dynamo Clapham and it was a lead they retained into the interval. After the turnaround Craig Fawcett turned 1-0 into 2-0 and there was no way back for the team from the Czech Republic.

The result marked revenge for Dynamo Clapham as, referring back to the 2012 Berlin Fives again, there was a 3-0 win for DHL Prague White over Dynamo Clapham (playing as Bayer Never Lose Em).

It was a huge result in the context of the group as Dynamo Clapham joined the leaders on four points although the leaders did still have a game in hand of course.

With the result above, Ziar Crew and Frankie's Footballing Fantasy went into their next fixture as the teams in fifth and sixth. It put huge importance on this game and huge pressure on securing points in what was a very tight group.

Ziar Crew could consider themselves unlucky to only have one point to show from a possible sixth and it was they who hit the front in this game as Matej Rapcan scored his first goal of the day for the Slovakian side. The home team were not ahead for long though as Larry Moore hit back quickly for Frankie's Footballing Fantasy.

The teams entered half-time level at 1-1 and after another half of football entered full-time still deadlocked at 1-1. The draw resulted in a point each for the two teams which meant Frankie's Footballing Fantasy were now in a four-team tie on four points at the top. For Ziar Crew it meant they had drawn two of their first three games and were lagging behind the rest on two points in sixth position.

To complete Round 3 was Skidmarks versus #Burst It. This was arguably the biggest game of Group A so far as these two teams were amongst the group on 4 points. This was their game in hand and a win would give the victors a hugely valuable 3 point lead in the table. A loss would leave the loser in a really tough battle to make the Cup. A draw – well a point would clearly be better than nothing but the rewards for all 3 points was clear for everyone to see.

With the action underway on the pitch it was #Burst It who found the net first but it was Skidmarks who were the happier of the two teams. How so? It was an own goal that separated the two teams. It was the one moment of half that split the two teams in the opening half.

It was a cruel way for #Burst It to be trailing in such a big game and it was even crueler when it proved to be the only goal of the game. Skidmarks saw the game out to earn all three points and put them in command of Group A.

It was a tough defeat for #Burst It to take but they still had two games left and if they could recover in style a place in the Cup was still theirs for the taking.
