In
2013, The El Dude Brothers began their campaign
with two narrow defeats (1-0 to DHL Prague Red
and 1-0 to Stadtrandkicker). Today in Bratislava
they also began with a narrow 2-1 defeat to
Budapest Celtic Lions and they would hope to
prevent history striking twice by avoiding defeat.
In
The El Dude Brothers way stood local team Slovakia.
Slovakia had opened up with a solid 2-2 victory
and were looking to build on that with a victory.
We reached half-time all square at 0-0. Both
teams have been level at half-time in their
opening games (0-0 for The El Dude Brothers,
1-1 for Slovakia) – could either team kick on
and secure a victory?
The
answer was yes and the deadlock was broken by
Adam Kovac of Slovakia. It got even better for
the home team when Kovac doubled the advantage
before Martin Cano put the icing on the cake
for a 3-0 victory.
It
was a good start to the tournament for Slovakia
but The El Dude Brothers had work to do.
