Round
2 started with Danish Dynamites versus AFC Underworld.
Danish
Dynamites most recent performance (before today)
in our tournaments was at the 2018 Lisbon Tournament.
They got off to a flyer with a 3-0 win over
FC United of Bob (Eng) and a 5-1 win over ASCPM
(Mor). They were then held up with a 3-1 loss
to FC Broxelona A. They returned to winning
ways defeating AFC Basemen 5-0 to win Group
B. They met 2016 Krakow Trophy winners (Tinniedad
& Tobacco) in the Quarter-Finals and went
out 4-2.
The
Danish Dynamites wasted no time in securing
a 9-0 win first up today and it looked like
they would build on that here as they took a
1-0 lead courtesy of Jesper Frisch's 5th goal
of the day. Although it was early, he was the
early contender for the top goalscorer award.
AFC
Underworld hit back though and it was Jack Foord
with the goal. It meant his team would enter
half-time level at 1-1. There was no addition
to the score in the second half and the teams
would collect 1 point each for their efforts.
Round
2 continued on Pitch D with Cranwell (Eng) versus
FNV (NL). Both of these teams had lost their opening
fixture and were looking to bounce back quickly.
For
Cranwell, they had now had their first taste of
eurofootballfives.com action and acclimatize to
the competition. They enjoyed their second game
on tour much more in terms of the result. James
Pemberton had the honour of scoring their first
goal in Europe and they never looked back.
A
first half hat-trick from Paddy Hobson meant Cranwell
were 4-0 up by the break. In the second half they
showed no signs of letting up. A double from Jack
Harrison took the lead to 6-0 before Tom Kelly
opened his personal account. Jack Harrison completed
his hat-trick for 8-0 before bagging a fourth
to round off a superb 9-0 win.
Cranwell
had their first points on the board. It was a
crashing defeat for FNV.
Game
6 of 15 in Group D was to be Rodger Fingers (Eng)
versus Agger Diouf Diouf Diouf (Eng).
We
briefly mentioned in Round 1 that Rodger Fingers
had three members of the Dynamo Fucdarest team
who competed here in 2015. On that occasion Dynamo
had two teams – the first team finished fourth
of five teams in Group E whilst the second team
finished second with 3 wins out of 4. The first
team went out in the Trophy QF and the second
team left us at the Cup QF stage.
Rodger
Fingers had shown the form of the Dynamo 2nd team
when they opened up with a 2-0 win in Round 1.
They were up against Agger Diouf Diouf Diouf who
also had a successful start to the day (3-1 win).
It
was Agger Diouf Diouf Diouf who kept that winning
form going. Ian Rosie scored twice in Round 1
and he added two more to his total as his goals
meant his team lead 2-0 at half-time. A Matthew
Berka goal in the second half sealed the win and
prevented any hopes of a Rodger Fingers comeback.
