FC Miracle's most recent appearances in our tournaments have been in our Veterans events.

2017 saw them switch to our Veterans Tournament in Lisbon. They won 4 and lost 1 game in Group A as they were 1 of 3 teams to finish level on 12 points. Their goal difference saw them win the group. A 4-0 win over FLX saw them reach another Cup Final. They missed out on the trophy as they lost 5-2 to Talhos Mariete. There was consolation for Laszlo Zsolt who was the top scorer on the day with 16 goals.

2018 saw another appearance in our Veterans event, this time in the Algarve. 5 wins and 1 defeat from 6 group games saw them finish second in Group B and qualify for the Cup. An almighty tussle in the Semi-Finals saw them draw 0-0 with 2017's Mallorca Veterans winners, FC Mahou. FC Miracle went through 3-2 on penalties. They were to finish runners-up again though as they lost the Cup Final 2-0 to Mini FC. Zoltan Toth was joint top scorer with 8 goals.

Back in open age competition they were doing quite nicely as they sat in second position in the league – still unbeaten. KLM were doing pretty well too tucked in just one point and one position in the table behind. The winner of this game would go top.

FC Miracle looked strong here with Dr Gabor Farkas putting them 1-0 up. 2018 Algarve Veterans Tournament top scorer, Zoltan Toth made it 2-0 at half-time. In the second half 2012 Valencia Fives and 2017 Lisbon Veterans Tournament top scorer, Laszlo Zsolt, made it 3-0 to secure a fine win.

Club Esportiu Llefia were up next and were up against Paralytic Athletic. Club Esportiu Llefia were top of the table at the end of Round 3. They would have just seen FC Miracle jump above them but they could return to the top of the table with another victory here.

Paralytic Athletic had started slowly but had just picked up a very important win against KLM. They were currently in fourth position but a win would send them into second place as they hunted down Cup qualification for the fourth successive campaign.

It was Paralytic Athletic who kept their momentum from the previous fixture as they took a first half lead through Jack Bryce-Smith. In a feisty encounter Club Esportiu Llefia fought back and levelled the game up through Sergio Rodriguez Viejo.

The draw helped Club Esportiu Llefia move within a point of FC Miracle at the top. The point for Paralytic Athletic meant they stayed 2 points behind their opponents and, whilst they could still reach the Cup, their fate was now out of their own hands.

Game 12 of Group A was FC Dad versus Ospina Coladas. The two teams currently occupied fifth and sixth positions which seemed a bit harsh on their performances. FC Dad had ended Paralytic Athletic's mammoth unbeaten run, Ospina Coladas had twice come from 1-0 down to draw with teams who were (then) at the top and also lost only 1-0 to the 2015 champions. Group A was really tight though and both teams still had mathematical hope of reaching the Cup. Both teams needed a win to keep those hopes alive.

A win for FC Dad would lift them into third position, just 1 point off the Cup qualification places. A win for Ospina Coladas would see them go joint third but 2 points off the Cup. Realistically, a draw would make the Cup unattainable.

These two teams had played before at the start of the 2015 Barcelona Fives when Ospina Coladas went by the name of ABCDE FC. On that occasion FC Dad won 4-1 which at the time was their biggest win eurofootballfives.com competition (they since have picked up 5-1 and 4-0 wins when at the 2017 Mallorca Fives). A repeat of that result would do them just fine. Whilst the FC Dad team was very similar in personnel 4 years on, Ospina Coladas were much changed and the changes had seemed to do them good.

Ospina Coladas established a 2-0 lead by the break thanks to goals from Alex Redfern and Matthew Taylor. Stuart Leslie pulled a goal back for FC Dad but Ospina Coladas went onto seal a 3-1 thanks to Christopher John.
