So, who would take their place in the Final from the second Semi-Final? The two teams set to do battle were Sintetrimeni against Black Sheep.

With Agger Diouf Diouf Diouf now eliminated from the tournament it was Sintetrimeni who were the highest ranked team from the group phase still in the tournament. They would no doubt be favourites as, of all the teams remaining, they had the most goals, best defence and best goal difference.

The Black Sheep may not have been too worried by these stats as Agger Diouf Diouf Diouf had the statistical advantage in the Quarter-Finals but Black Sheep saw off their challenge, 3-0. Black Sheep were looking for a second title win some 7 years after their breakthrough win. It felt that their semi-final opponents were the strongest obstacle left in the tournament.

It proved to be the case as Andreas Aggelopoulos gave the Greek team the lead. He scored the winning penalty in the Quarter-Final win and now had a pivotal goal at the start of this semi. Panagiotis Karachanidis had been amongst the goals all day and his seventh of the tournament made it 2-0. The odds were really stacked against the Black Sheep now and it was all done and dusted when Panagiotis Karachanidis scored to make it 3-0.

It was farewell to Black Sheep for 2019 but we may see them again back at the 2020 Barcelona tournament and possibly also as a touring side at one of our European destinations. Watch this space. It was a good performance today but the Greeks were just too good.
