It was third versus fourth at the start of Round 3 as VNV (NL) would meet Northern Town (Eng). Both teams had 1 win and 1 loss to their names as they occupied the mid-table positions. A win here would give the victor a share of the lead at the top of Group B, temporarily at least.

VNV came into the game on the back of a victory so perhaps they had the momentum coming into the fixture. However, that was wrestled away from them as Northern Town made the initial breakthrough. Campbell McAuley was the man with the goal to put the English team into the ascendency.

The second half kicked off with Northern Town still 1-0 ahead. Could VNV force their way back into this? If they were they would need to find a way past Stephen Brennan who had an impressive 3 clean sheets in 8 games at the 2018 Gdansk Tournament (a higher scoring event with larger goals). There was no way past the shot stopper who went on to complete his second clean sheet in 3 games here in Barcelona.

With that, Northern Town had their second win of the day. Full-time, 1-0.

Up next in Group B was Sintetrimeni versus FC Maroon. At the end of Round 2, these teams found themselves in 1st and 2nd in the table respectively. Northern Town's win had just seen them split these two teams.

Before the tournament started Sintetrimeni were one of the favourites to win the title as they came from the same camp that had won the tournament last year. This was along with previous tournament winners Northern Town, FC Miracle, Black Sheep and Club Esportiu Llefia plus any debutants that could make their mark. Sintetrimeni had only enhanced their reputation with a strong 7-1 win and a 2-0 win over fellow title challengers Northern Town.

FC Maroon were no mugs in these tournaments as they'd proved by winning a group without conceding a goal in the recent past. Sintetrimeni looked like a different proposition especially as FC Maroon drew 1-1 with the team who the Greeks put 7 past. What followed was probably FC Maroon's greatest single result in our tournaments since their debut in 2013.

The first half finished 0-0 which was an achievement in itself but the second half was to get even better. Max Hill scored in the previous game and he was to score a famous goal here. Rich Mason was in goal for FC Maroon in this one and he shut out the opposition. Whilst Sintetrimeni had strong spells in this match it wasn't quite the “all hands on deck” that some may have expected after they took the lead. It was quite the performance from FC Maroon who were good value for their win. FC Maroon were top of Group B!

To complete Round 3 we had Bracknell Vets versus Footballab. Bracknell Vets came into the game on the back of putting their first point on the board – a 1-1 drew against FC Maroon. Given the result in the game above, that looked an even better point for Bracknell Vets than we may have first thought.

Footballab had suffered narrow 1-0 defeats in both their fixtures to date. They were competitive in both and could perhaps consider themselves unlucky not to have got rewards for their performances to date. The Spanish team must have got that sinking feeling when they fell behind in this one. Sam Clark opened his personal account for Bracknell Vets as his first half goal gave the English team a 1-0 lead going into half-time.

Footballab finally broke their duck after the break with Giorgio Bertelli having the honour of scoring his team's first goal in eurofootballfives.com action. Footballab were only briefly level though as Sam Clark scored his second of the game to restore the lead for Bracknell Vets.

Sam Clark's goal wasn't quite enough for all 3 points as Alesandro Manzano scored a second equalizer for Footballab who took a point from the game. Final score, 2-2.
