Group
B began with Sintetrimeni (Gre) versus Bracknell
Vets (Eng). Both teams were on debut and so
they had a blank canvas upon which to paint
their footballing artistry. Let the games commence……
Sintetrimeni
are the second team in as many years to represent
Greece in this tournament. They had a lot to
live up to as last year AC Mazi 1996 swept to
a stunning victory with 8 wins in 8 games, 37
goals scored and just 2 conceded. It was a simply
amazing performance.
With
this match underway it looked like Sintrimeni
may well be able to live up to the achievements
of their countrymen from 2018. They swept to
a 3-0 lead at half-time with goals from Ioannis
Parissis, Vasilios Christopoulos and Alexandros
Charakidas. There was more of the same in the
second period with Panagiotis Karachanidis making
it 4-0 and Perikilis Karvounis becoming the
fifth different scorer in the game. Ioannis
Parissis then went on to complete his hat-trick
for 7-0.
It
was Bracknell Vets who would have the final
say though as Andy Parslow assisted Ash Balfour
to make it 7-1. Not all games would be this
difficult!
