That
left us with GAT Assurance versus Brewin Dolphin
B.
Brewin
Dolphin B were the only team yet to get off the
mark in Group C and this was their final chance.
With Groups A and B finished, they knew exactly
what they needed to do. If they could pick up
a draw they would qualify for the Plate as the
best sixth placed finisher. If they could collect
a win they would leapfrog their opponents and
finish fifth. Defeat would mean elimination from
the tournament.
GAT
Assurance were assured of a place in the Plate
regardless of the result here. A win or draw would
see them finish in fifth. Defeat would see them
go through but they would have a tough draw in
the Quarter-Finals playing the third placed team
from Group B.
GAT
Assurance had two draws to their name but were
looking for that first win. They could not have
been much closer in Round 4 when they were denied
by a late long-distance equalizer. This time,
they made no mistake.
Montassar
Aguili scored his first goal of the tournament
to put GAT Assurance 1-0 up. Taoufick Jebri then
gave his team some breathing space as GAT Assurance
enjoyed a 2-0 cushion. There was to be no late
heartbreak for Tunisia this time!
