With their first games under their belts it was Round 2 for all the teams in Group A and time to settle in to the tournament.

Brewin Dolphin A started off with a tough game against 3x times winners L'Albiceleste. They continued against a team who had reached 2x Cup Finals, Galacticos.

Galacticos came close to their maiden title as recently as the 2018 Lisbon Tournament. In a difficult Group D they finished second of 6 teams behind Ireland's Saipan FC. They took 3 wins and 2 draws from their 5 group games. They had a superb 3-0 win over Poland's PSV Hangover in the Quarters before a 4-1 win over Wessex FC in the Semis. They then met Saipan FC in the Cup Final but collected runners-up medals as they narrowly lost 1-0.

Following opening game defeat in Alicante they were ruthless in bouncing back. They raced to a 7-0 lead and it was only half-time. In the end the game finished 11-0 as the Galacticos team went goal crazy. Mo Hafesji (2), Yaseen Patel (2), Hamza Patel (2), Adam Patel (2), Shanwaz Pathan, Faisal Pirbhai and Shahed Patel were all on target.

Next up on Pitch B was AC Motxo International versus L'Albiceleste. Both teams competed at the 2018 Algarve Open although they did not play against each other. L'Albiceleste reached the Cup Semi-Finals whilst AC Motxo International won the Plate. Today, AC Motxo International had lost their opener but L'Albiceleste already had a win under their belts.

L'Albiceleste had a formidable record in the group phase of our tournaments. In their previous 7 tournaments with us they had finished top of their group on 6 occasions and 2 nd just once (2017 Barcelona Fives).

AC Motxo International held their own in the first half here with the two teams reaching half-time level at 0-0. It was another strong second half from L'Albiceleste though as Cedric Castarede broke the deadlock for the French. He then doubled his team's lead from the penalty spot to make it 2-0 and secure win #2.

At this time, we presented Cedric Castarede with his top goalscorer award from the 2018 Algarve Open. Cedric finished level with Liam Kenney in Portugal but we only had one trophy. So, we brought another trophy to Alicante to present to Cedric. It was Cedric's third top goalscorer award – 2013 Mallorca Fives, 2016 Riga Tournament and the 2018 Algarve Open. 3x golden boot awards is the joint record at our tournaments.

To complete Round 2 we had Lostwithiel FC versus 9 Nana Budds. Both teams had enjoyed success in Round 1 (both 3-1) and a second win here would put them joint top of the table.

Lostwithiel FC were a new addition to our tour back at the 2018 Amsterdam Sixes. They started off with a very creditable 2-2 draw against the defending champions Vieze Vu (Hol). There followed two narrow 3-2 defeats to Ross Kemp FC and Cheesecake FC. Another 2-2 draw followed against John Lewis FC before securing a first European victory over Switzerland's FC Letcom (Swi). They qualified for the Plate competition but went out at the Semi-Final stage following a 4-1 defeat to Top Bunners.

The team from Cornwall had made a bright start to today's tournament and secured a very good point here against the 2018 Algarve Open champions. Defences were on top as Alex Jacques (Lostwithiel FC) and Tim Moore (9 Nana Budds) both collected clean sheets.

The two teams shared second position at the end of Round 2.
