We were down to the final four teams in our Trophy competition and first up was Tysers (Eng) versus Southgate County 2s (Eng).

In normal time in the knock-out phase, Tysers were now unbeaten in four games with just a penalty shoot-out defeat at the 2018 Lisbon Tournament. They were also on a run of three games unbeaten in today's tournament.

Southgate County 2s had enjoyed an extended break due to the bye in the Quarter-Final. Would this help or hinder? It was a chance to give the heart and lungs a rest but also time for muscles to cool down. Southgate County 2s had performed well this morning with just 2 defeats in their 5 games picking up a win and 2 draws. They finished the group phase with an even goal difference of 3-3. It was the best goal difference of all the teams in the Trophy.

It was Tysers who kept their run of good form going in the first half as Jamie Davy opened the scoring. 1-0 became 2-0 at the break thanks to a strike from Reece Stoneman. Tysers were on their way to another Trophy Final.

For Southgate County 2s it was the end of the road in today's tournament.

So, who would meet Tysers in the Final? Would it be Purnell Youth or Scoregasm?

There was the prospect of Tysers meeting Purnell Youth for the second time today if Purnell Youth could overcome the Scoregasm hurdle. Purnell Youth would probably start the game as favourites as from their 6 games they had won 1, drawn 2 and lost 3. They had scored 5 for the concession of 9 goals. In comparison, Scoregasm had played 5, lost 5 with a goal difference of 2-14.

Scoregasm also had the extended break due to the bye in the Quarter-Finals. Purnell Youth by playing their QF will have got back in the groove and got those muscles working. They would have put in more cardiovascular effort though. The two teams cancelled each other out in the first half of this Semi-Final. Both defences were on top, 0-0 at the break.

In the second half we were to get a goal – but just the one. Who scored it? Step forward Jack Longman. His goal was the difference between the two teams and they were in a European final.
