Round 4 of Group A began with Tysers versus ZVC indoor Gent. ZVC Gent's most successful eurofootballfives.com appearance to date was their debut at the 2015 Mallorca Tournament. It was so close to being the perfect debut! They looked good from the start with a 3-0 win over Seleccion Balear (2015 & 2017 Plate winners, 2017 Mallorca Fives Cup winners as Valecuatro) and a 3-1 win over The Drip Trays. The 100% run continued with a 4-0 win over Contejus Hurricanes (Algarve Open 2012 Plate winners) and a 3-1 win over Scoregasm. They finished the group with a 1-0 defeat to Peluqueria Mariano but it didn't matter as they qualified for the Cup anyway.

In the Cup Quarter-Final they drew 0-0 with La Briocha and went through 3-2 on penalties. In the Semi-Final they got their revenge on Peluqueria Mariano (2016 Mallorca Tournament Cup winners) after a 1-1 draw and another 3-2 penalty win. They met Ireland's Saipan FC in the Cup Final and narrowly lost 1-0.

The Belgian team were unbeaten so far today but they fell behind in this one thanks to a Jack Peterson strike for Tysers. The English team were looking for their first win and they were ahead at half-time. In the second half Michael Ingels pulled a goal back for ZVC Indoor Gent. However, with 2 draws already they really needed a win to avoid losing ground at the top.

A stoic Tysers defence stood strong as ZVC Indoor Gent threw everything at their opponents. It was another draw for ZVC though as we finished level at 1-1.

The next game was hugely important at the top of the table. It was third place (Southgate County 1s) hosting first place (ACD.Sta.C.A.Nova). At the start of play there was only 1 point separating the two teams. In fact, the top four were separated by just 1 point.

A win for either team would be massive at this stage with just one more round of fixtures to play. For the Portuguese it would ensure Cup qualification. Southgate County 1s would go two points clear at the top with a win of their own (Mini FC would have a game in hand though).

The first half came and went with no score. The second half looked like it was going to go the same way but a free kick in the final minute changed all that. The Portuguese had a chance to win it at the death and with the Southgate County wall braced for a shot on goal, the ball was played wide of the wall and into the box for Goncarlo Rodrigues to sweep home. It was a clever free-kick with a Portuguese player on the end of the wall preventing Southgate County getting across in time to block the shot. It was Rodrigues' third of the tournament and it spoiled Cliff Lovett's potential third clean sheet.

It was a blow for Southgate County 1s and a sickener coming so late in the game.

The victory for ACD.Sta.C.a.Nova in the previous fixture meant one of the Cup qualification places had already been claimed. Mini FC now had the opportunity to put themselves in pole position to take the second space. At the start of play they sat on 6 points alongside ZVC Indoor Gent and Southgate County 1s. Those two teams would be hoping Purnell Youth could do them a favour.

Purnell Youth's results today read 1-1, 0-3 and 0-1. The odds were stacked against them in this one but they were competitive. Just the one goal separated the two teams in the opening period. Joao Simoes was a man possessed in front of goal and clearly had his eye on the top goalscorer prize today. He put Mini FC 1-0 up in this one.

Simoes was on target again in the second half. A goal in each half was enough to see off the Purnell Youth challenge. The Portuguese goalkeeper Domingos kept clean sheet #2 of the day and Mini FC now looked good to reach the Cup.
