In
the next game we had Tysers up against Southgate
County 1s.
Southgate
County debuted in @eurofootball5 competition
at the 2015 Berlin Fives. They had a tough start
losing 3-0 to 2 x Cup Semi-Finalists and 2016
Krakow Trophy champions Tinniedad & Tobacco.
They then lost 4-1 to eventual runners-up Hurting
Berlin. They turned things around with a 3-0
win over Scandittack FC, 3-2 win over Fail Madrid
and 4-1 win over Rayford Athletic. They qualified
for the Cup competition where they went out
2-1 to the eventual winners Pink Flamingos A.
The
2016 Lisbon Tournament began with a 2-1 win
over SNQTB (Por) before a narrow 1-0 lost to
French finalists World Pinteur. They then returned
to winning ways 3-0 against Your Mum (Eng) before
another narrow defeat, 3-2, to eventual winners
Parques Tejo (Por). They qualified for the Plate
and went all the way to glory thanks to a 2-1
win over Shrewsbury Townsend in the Semi-Finals
and another win against Your Mum (2-0) in the
Plate Final. They also had a team in the Vets
who finished 6 th in their group and did not
reach the knock-out phase.
The
2017 Mallorca Tournament saw results tail off
although they were dealt a tough group that
featured the eventual winners. They finished
fifth of six teams to go through to the Plate.
A 3-0 win over Whiteley FC preceded a 6-2 defeat
to Inter Balear. Their Veterans team proved
much more successful than Lisbon as they topped
their group with 5 wins out of 5. A 2-1 win
over Stilton Rovers saw them set-up a debut
final. They were up against FC Mahou who proved
too strong on the day but Southgate County still
picked up runners-up medals.
Both
Tysers and Southgate County 1s started with
2-1 defeats having been 1-0 up. It was Southgate
County 1s who were on course to bounce back
as Simon Hicks and Neil Spackman both hit the
back of the net in the first half.
There
was no addition to the score after the break
as Southgate County 1s claimed their first win
of the day.
