The first game in Round 4 was a contest to savour as we would enjoy Cheesecake FC versus Goldsmith Williams. These two teams had not yet met in eurofootballfives.com competition but if it had not been for Athletico Do Hollande they could well have been competing for the 2011 Algarve Open last summer. This promised to be a really interesting game.

It did indeed prove to be interesting as both teams went for it and both teams created chances. The context of the group situation meant a draw was more useful to Goldsmith Williams than Cheesecake FC. A win for Goldsmith Williams would guarantee their place in the Cup and a win for Cheesecake FC would make it a 3-way tie at the top of Group C.

The first half proved to be goal-less with nothing to divide the two teams. In the second half it was Cheesecake FC who struck first through Mark Hignett's second goal of the day. Liam Currie's 5th of the tournament ensured it would not be a Cheesecake victory when he leveled things up and at full-time we were all square at 1-1. The team shared the spoils and on balance the result was probably a fair one.

The above result opened the door for Cosegur Balear to stretch out a two point lead at the top of Group C if they could take victory against Prices Whiteley All Stars. The All Stars with 1 point from 9 were needing to add to that tally in their battle to qualify for the Plate competition.

If Pricers Whiteley All Stars were to add more points to their total it was not going to happen in this game as Cosegur Balear wasted no time at all in racing to a 3-0 lead by the break and putting the result beyond doubt in the first half alone. Cosegur had yet to concede in the tournament and with goals from all over the team (over the day they had 8 different scorers) they were looking like a potent force in this tournament.

In this game the first two goals both came from Benjamin Rodriguez Nebreda. There were also goals from Jose Daniel Fernandez Arenas and Juli Alfaro Magana. The win took them top and guaranteed their Cup qualification.

The final game of Round 4 was Inextremes versus Norton Hill Old Boys. Neither team had managed to score yet but for the 3 teams in the lower half of the table the results between them were going to be crucial. Inextremes had already secured a 0-0 draw against Pricers Whiteley All Stars. This was Norton Hill Old Boy's first game against a team outside the top 3.

With neither team yet scoring a fair bet would have been on a 0-0 result but Mark Paget ensured that wouldn't be the case when he gave Norton Hill Old Boys a first half lead. Inextremes were chasing the game and their first goal of the tournament was proving elusive. Then, with time running out, the big talking point of the game occurred.

Norton Hill Old Boys had a throw in and with the Inextremes goalkeeper out of his goal and playing like a sweeper, Paget struck the ball from distance for his second of the game, 2-0 to Norton Hill Old Boys and effectively game over. Inextremes then lost their heads with complaints to the referee – we have no idea why and the gathered crowds watching did not know what the Inextremes complaint was about. The only thing we could think of was they thought it was their throw-in but then they should play to the whistle. It brought about a fiery end to the game that saw both teams reduced to 4-men but Norton Hill Old Boys had secured a first win of the day that left Inextremes bottom of the table.
