We
previewed games in the last round with Norton
Hill Old Boys playing an impressive Goldsmith
Williams group record and they would now play
an impressive Cheesecake FC record with just
1 defeat in 10 group games. That defeat did
come in the last fixture though so how would
Cheesecake FC respond?
They
really needed the points to try and stay in
pursuit of Cosegur Balear and Goldsmith Williams
with the latter 6 points clear of them at kick-off
in this match. Norton Hill Old Boys had suffered
two heavy defeats and did not want another but
that's exactly what happened.
Wes
Armstrong opened the scoring, Luc Osborne's
first of the day made it 2-0 and Waseem Khalique
made it 3-0 at half-time. There was more of
the same in the second period with Khalique
making it 4-0. A Justin Rees double at the end
crowned a 6-0 victory and Cheesecake FC had
bounced back in style. They were still very
much in the hunt for Cup qualification.
Norton
Hill Old Boys were in need of a change of luck
and change of results as they were arguably
the strongest team in Group C….they must be….they
were holding up the rest.
