The
result above meant that Policia Local had slipped
to fourth position in the table and that is
where they would stay if they lost their final
group game. If they drew this final game they
would finish third but be the third best third
placed team and therefore progress to the Plate.
If they won, they would be the second best third
placed team and qualify for the Cup.
Policia
Local's opponents would be Red Cow Belgrade.
As things stood, Red Cow Belgrade were facing
elimination so this would be last chance saloon
for them. Only a win would be good enough to
see them climb up into fifth place and qualify
for the Plate.
History
was on the side of Policia Local having qualified
for the Cup 7 times out of 8 in our tournaments.
Red Cow Belgrade had qualified for the Plate
on 5 of their 7 previous campaigns.
History
didn't matter here though as Daz Bray made a
name for himself with 2 goals. There was a clean
sheet for Dom Leonard in goal as Red Cow Belgrade
secured the 2-0 win they needed. Red Cow Belgrade
had only been eliminated at the group phase
once in our tournaments (2014 Algarve Open).
They left it late today but would play knock-out
football this afternoon.
