Two rounds to go and 6 games of football left on the schedule to decide the teams' fates in Group B. Deddington Sea Men would take to the field for their final fixture against an AFC Basemen team who had a game in hand.

Deddington Sea Men still topped the Group B table with 10 points – 2 ahead of their nearest rivals. They had won their first 3 games and been ahead in the last two games. However, they had only taken 1 point from those last two games so there was pressure on the Sea Men to get this group wrapped up.

AFC Basemen were currently in fourth position on 7 points and could go level with their opponents if they could claim victory and would still have a game in hand. In their last game they pulled off the prize scalp of defeating Hellgarve Kraken's and ending their 10 game unbeaten run in the process. They would not doubt be full of confidence.

It was AFC Basemen who struck first with Adam Speake scoring his first goal of the tournament. It was the first time the Sea Man had conceded the opening goal of the game today. AFC Basemen had two clean sheets from their four games so far and they were soon to collect their third clean sheet. It was another sound defensive display that helped them secure all 3 points.

It was getting really interesting at the top with four teams separated by just 3 points. Two of those teams were locked together on 10 points. Bar Maruru had the chance to jump from third place to first place and move on to 11 points.

Bar Maruru came into this game on the back of a 6-0 win and were in fine form. Inter Balear had just had a prolonged rest after a 3-0 walkover against Neptune Rams. They were in sixth position currently but a two goal win could see them climb up to third place.

Bar Maruru were on a run of 8 goals without reply and they were to make that 9 when they made the initial breakthrough – Farid Echanghoufi put them ahead. Inter Balear were to hit back though as Lee Baynes equalized. It could be a vital goal if they could now push on and collect the win.

Inter Balear hopes were dented though as Bar Maruru went ahead again at 2-1. Fran Merida Garcia scored 5 times in their title campaign last year and his first of the day helped Bar Maruru extend their lead to 3-1.

Bar Maruru eventually completed a 4-1 win that saw them go top of Group B.

That left us with GHSFC versus Hellgarve Kraken's to complete Round 6. This was a crucial game for both these two teams. Just 1 point separated the top 3 teams. Hellgarve Kraken's could make that 1 point separating 4 teams with victory. GHSFC needed a win to move within 2 points of the top. Defeat would end the losing teams hopes of making the Cup competition. A draw, in the context of the group table, wouldn't do either team much good.

Only a win would really do. GHSFC were coming into the game on the back of a 6-0 less and needed to regain their form as soon as possible. They did just that as they put in a good performance. GHSFC and Hellgarve Kraken's were proving to be evenly matched.

Ultimately just the one goal would separate the two teams. Who would score that vital goal? Step forward Tiago Nogueira – his fourth strike of the day and it could well be his most important. At the other end Joao Dias collected his third clean sheet in five games.
