We began Round 3 of Group C with Deddington Sea Rats versus Urbansport. On paper this looked like an easy game to call. Deddington Sea Rats had a 100% loss record today, Urbansport had a 100% win record. It looked like an away win before kick-off.

Things don't always go according to the form book but on this occasion the form book was spot on. Urbansport had scored 5 goals without reply so far and they made that 6 goals when Charly Navarro scored the first goal of this game.

Juan Garcia had been the tournament top scorer at the 2015 Mallorca Tournament when playing for Seleccion Balear. He scored 15 goals that day and had already scored 2 goals in 2 games today. Make that 3 goals in 3 games as he made it 2-0 here. Yazid Hamadna and Kevin Martii made it 4-0 and we were still in the first half.

Ben Lewis pulled one back before the break that gave Deddington Sea Rats a glimmer of hope going into the second half. Juanito Garcia and Kevin Martii extinguished that hope as Urbansport saw out a 6-1 victory.

Lanky Londoners came into Round 3 in second place with ambitions of qualifying for the Cup. They had 4 points from 6 but found themselves 5 points off the leaders Urbansport who had just secured their third win on the bounce. Lanky Londoners needed a win to stay in touch with their Spanish rivals.

Red Cow Belgrade came into the game on the back of their first point but would no doubt be disappointed having lead 2-0 in that game. This was their second appearance at our tournaments in Spain. Their first was at the 2014 Barcelona Fives and was the scene of their best eurofootballfives.com to date. 3 wins out of 4 in the group phase saw them finish 2nd in Group C behind Spain's Prospe FC. 2 nd in most tournaments is Cup qualification but in Barcelona it meant the Plate would await Red Cow Belgrade. They started off the knock-out phase well with a 3-0 win over BCN Raiders and then a 0-0 draw with ADP Netherlands in the Semi-Finals. They were victorious via penalties and met Naranjitos of Spain in the Final. Sadly for Red Cow Belgrade they couldn't quite get over the line and had to settle for Runners-Up medals after a 2-0 defeat.

It looked like Red Cow Belgrade might need to settle for the Plate again as they slipped to a second defeat of the day. Jack Stratt, one of Lanky Londoner's Barcelona based players, was the man to put the Lanky Londoners ahead. Sam “Twinkle Toes” Twyman secured the game in the second half for a 2-0 win.

The top two were streaking away from the pack in Group C with Urbansport (9 points) and Lanky Londoners (7 points) strong favourites to make the Cup. Policia Local were third with 3 points and The Midlanders fourth with 2 points. To keep up with the two leaders, each team would need to find a victory here. A draw here wouldn't help either team in pursuit of Cup qualification.

Policia Local's group record had been very good over the years. Before today, in their 36 group games before today they had won 22 of them with 5 draws and lost 9. They had scored 55 goals with 24 conceded for a +31 goal difference and had recorded an impressive haul of 71 points from a possible 108.

The Midlanders were looking like they would be today's draw specialists. They were a good bet for the Pool's coupon with a 1-1 and 2-2 draw so far today. We reached half-time with the teams level at 0-0. With the way the second half went they probably would have taken a third draw. In the second half Selous Nicolau scored the only goal of the game to win it 1-0 for Policia Local.
