Going into the final round of games we would need to chalk up Bar Maruru's 3-0 walkover win against the now-absent Neptune Rams.

It moved Bar Maruru up to 14 points and guaranteed the Group B win. In their three eurofootballfives.com tournaments they had won their group on all 3 occasions. Many congratulations to them.

We turned our attentions to the top of the table as AFC Basemen faced GHSFC. AFC Basemen were one of three teams locked together on 10 points. Deddington Sea Men had completed their fixtures so were unable to add to their tally. AFC Basemen would be playing here on Pitch B with Hellgarve Kraken's up next.

A win for AFC Basemen would guarantee Cup qualification – either as the second placed team or one of the top third placed teams. A draw would probably achieve the same result. A defeat would mean fourth place and the Plate.

GHSFC were currently in fifth place and could guarantee that position with a victory here. They would be in the Plate competition regardless but the higher the league position would give them a (theoretically) more favourable draw in the knock-out phase.

AFC Basemen qualified for the Cup on their previous appearance in Lisbon last year but this year they would miss out. A 1-0 defeat meant they fell at the final hurdle. Arjan Chagger was the hero for GHSFC or the villain from an AFC Basemen perspective. Snoppy Thind kept his second clean sheet of the day – a nice way to end the group campaign.

To finalise Group B we had Hellgarve Kraken's versus Inter Balear. With 20 games done these two teams knew exactly what was at stake in this final fixure.

There wasn't much in it for Inter Balear – they would finish in sixth position whatever the result of this game.

With AFC Basemen's defeat, Hellgarve Kraken's needed just the one point to guarantee second position in the table. Defeat for the Portuguese would mean Deddington Sea Men would take second position and it would come down to goal difference between The Basemen and Hellgarve Kraken's for third place. The Basemen were +2, Hellgarve Kraken's were currently +4 so they had little room for error.

Defeat was never on the cards though once Hellgarve Kraken's established a 1-0 lead. They went from strength to strength with Hugo Xavier having a storming game. Xavier scored four and the first four of the game. Andre Mateus made it 5-0 to round off match and Group B in style.

Hellgarve Kraken's would qualify in second position and take their place in this afternoon's Cup knock-out competition.
