There were 6 games remaining in Group B and the teams each had two more chances to determine their fate in the knock-out phase. Red Cow Belgrade and Deddington Sea Rats kicked off Round 4. It was fifth versus sixth in the table at kick-off. The two teams needed to avoid finishing sixth to qualify for the Plate. A win here would go a long way towards avoiding elimination at the end of the group phase.

These two teams played out one of the most entertaining games of Group C. The match ebbed and flowed as we were treated to a seven goal thriller. It was Red Cow Belgrade who got us up and running thanks to a Joe Smith goal. Deddington Sea Rats levelled it up at 1-1 due to a Ollie Hawkins strike. Tom Goyski restored the Red Cow Belgrade lead at 2-1 but they were pegged back again. Joe Davies was the man to restore parity for Deddington.

In the second half it was Deddington Sea Rats who hit the front for the first time after Robbie Dwyer successfully found the back of the net. The Sea Rats had daylight for the first time when Ben Lewis made it 4-2. If you thought the game was over it wasn't – not just yet. Tom Goyski scored his second of the game to make it 4-3 but they ran out of time to rescue a point.

Deddington Sea Rats went on to win their first match of the day.

The Midlanders were next up as they hosted Urbansport. The former found themselves down in fifth position despite just the one defeat today – draws rather than wins had curtailed their march up the table. They had their work cut out in this game as they took on the league leaders.

Urbansport were currently at the top of the table with a 100% record. They had scored 11 goals today and conceded just 1 so were red hot favourites for this but The Midlanders hadn't read the script.

Matthew Homer had scored twice today and he was about to make a name for himself and become a thorn in Urbansport's side. He scored a goal in each half and The Midlanders were on course for a famous win. Urbansport were about to stage a remarkable comeback though.

Juanito Garcia registered his fifth goal of the tournament for Urbansport to reduce the deficit to 2-1. The Spanish were back on level terms when Charly Navarro scored the vital equalizer. Urbansport had lost their 100% record but they remained unbeaten.

The draw did not really help The Midlanders too much. It was better for Urbansport who edged closer to the Cup competition.

The first of Policia Local's final 2 games was next on Pitch C as they faced Lanky Londoners. Urbansport's draw in the previous game had opened the door for these two teams to gain ground on the league leaders. Lanky Londoners could go level on 10 points at the top and guarantee a Cup spot into the bargain. A win for Policia Local would see them leapfrog Lanky Londoners into second position.

A clear top three and bottom three had developed in Group C so it was perfectly plausible that if this game finished in a draw all 3 teams at the top could qualify for the Cup subject to results in the final round of fixtures. Whilst both teams would dearly love to win this it was arguably more important not to lose this game.

Lanky Londoners established a strong position in this game and in the group overall when they took a first half lead through Nick Watkins – what a time to grab your first goal of the tournament. Policia Local were now up against it but they were unable to get back into it before the end of the first half. A goal-less second half followed as Lanky Londoners pulled off a very important win.

Lanky Londoners joined Urbansport at the top of the table and remained unbeaten. Policia Local had work to do going into the final round of fixtures.
