Playing Against Cancer FC would not have been thrilled when they looked at the fixtures for Round 4. They took their 100% losing record up against the 100% winning record of Return of the Dancing Horses III.

Return of the Dancing Horses III were now on a run of 7 successive wins in the group phase of eurofootballfives.com tournaments scoring 19 goals and conceding just 1 in the process – I'm not too sure how many better records there are out there? It was a modest start to this game as a solitary Michael Winkworth goal separated the teams in the opening period.

After the break Return of the Dancing Horses III moved through the gears as Michael Winkworth scored again for 2-0. Craig Harrison then pitched in with his seventh and eighth of the day to make it 4-0 and secure their position at the top of the Group C table.

The above result meant that the three teams on 6 points were currently a full 6 points behind Return of the Dancing Horses III at the summit of Group C. Two of those teams now met as ADP Netherlands met Melee FC.

ADP Netherlands came into the game on the back of two successive wins whereas Melee FC had just tasted their first defeat of the day. Momentum can count for a lot in our tournaments and although Melee FC were slightly the stronger of the two on paper due to going further in the 2013 Barcelona Fives this was expected to be a close game as the league table showed. The two teams actually met in Group A in Barcelona last October and Melee FC emerged victorious on that occasion, 3-1.

When they played in Spain the two teams were also locked together on 6 points in the table and it was Melee FC who took a 2-1 lead into half-time. Today though it was ADP Netherlands who took the early advantage as Jeroen Voogt scored his first goal of the day.

Melee FC hit back in the second period through Kevin Lewis but ultimately it would prove to be a consolation goal as a Kevin Pieters strike proved to be the decisive goal in a 2-1 win. It was Kevin Pieters eighth goal of the day and arguably his most important. ADP Netherlands moved into second position.

The last of those teams on six points to play was St Paul's College Old Boys as they met Bede FC.

St Paul's College Old Boys had so far gone win-loss-win and Bede FC would hope to keep that pattern going by adding another loss to the end of the sequence. They were yet to score today so it as going to be tough. When they did score it was certainly worth waiting for as it sparked wild celebrations – when Troy Grant scored you would have thought that Bede FC had won the game, the tournament, the FA Cup, Champions League and Superbowl in one fell swoop. We exaggerate (as you may have guessed) but it was certainly the biggest celebration of the day thus far.

The goal could not prevent Bede FC trailing at half-time though as Lewis Howard and David Whiterod scored the goals that gave St Paul's College Old Boys a 2-1 lead. After the break James West made it 3-1 to seal the points that saw St Paul's College Old Boys go joint second (third on goal difference).

For Bede FC it was a step in the right direction and if they could gain some momentum going into the knock-out phase there was still much to play for.
