We had a great fixture to look forward to as we entered Round 3 – Return of the Dancing Horses III versus Melee FC. Both teams had flown out of the blocks and had a maximum 6 points to show for their efforts so far. They had scored 17 goals between them and neither goalkeeper had yet conceded.

As you might expect from two heavyweight teams it was the defences rather than the attackers that held sway in the first half. Both goalkeepers kept their tournament clean sheet record going as we reached the interval level at 0-0.

There were to be goals though and the deadlock was broken by Craig Harrison's fifth goal of the competition – superb start for him and already the best return of a Dancing Horse in a eurofootballfives.com tournament. Could Melee FC respond?

If they were to respond they would need to do it from 2-0 down as Harrison netted again. Melee FC did pull one back late on from Kevin Lewis to make it 2-1 but it was too late in the game to rescue the situation and it was Return of the Dancing Horses III who marched on with a 100% record.

St Paul's College Old Boys were next on the field to take on Playing Against Cancer FC. The English team had won their first game but lost out in Round 2. If they were to get back to winning ways it would need to be now against a team who had lost both opening games and just suffered 8-1 at the hands of a team who St Paul's College Old Boys had defeated 2-0 already.

It looked like this would be a “home” win on the fixture list (if not geographically) but it was Playing Against FC who took the early advantage through Jimmer Aker. At the start of the second half it remained 1-0 to the local team. The pressure was on St Paul's College Old Boys and they responded in fine fashion.

Paul Rodgers, Lewis Howard and Paul Rodgers again got the travelling English side right back into it and although Mitchel scored for Playing Against Cancer FC it would not prevent the charity team slipping to a third straight defeat.

The victory meant St Paul's College Old Boys would join Melee FC for a share of second place in the table.

So, up until Round 3 Bede FC had played the top two in the table and now their reward was a fixture against a team who had just won 8-1 in ADP Netherlands. Bede FC – we didn't do this to you on purpose….we promise!

ADP Netherlands had put a slow start behind them and had bounced back from opening game defeat with that comprehensive win in Round 2. If they could make it two wins in a row they would make it a three team tie for second place on 6 points. Michiel Nagelhout opened the scoring against Playing Against Cancer FC in Round 2 and he opened the scoring again here in Round 3 versus Bede FC.

The five goal hero from their previous game, Kevin Pieters, doubled the ADP Netherlands advantage to make it 2-0 and then he added his 7th goal of the tournament to make it 3-0. That's how it finished and ADP Netherlands were one of four teams looking good in Group C.

Bede FC were languishing at the other end of the table but still had two more group games to turn their fortunes around.
