With their first games under their belts it was Round 2 for all the teams in Group A and time to settle in to the tournament. First up was Pajero FC against AAK S&S. The former were looking to bounce back from opening defeat whilst the latter were looking to build upon an opening win.

If AAK S&S could secure a win they would match their flying start to the tournament in 2011 and sit nicely on top of Group A. Pajero FC had other ideas though – they had struggled in the first half of their opening fixture before growing into the game in the second period. They continued their progression into Round 2 as they took the lead in this game through Jay Kwan.

Jay Kwan was having quite a game and he extended the Pajero FC lead from 1-0 to 2-0 before going on to complete a fine hat-trick. It was a great personal achievement and also earned a valuable 3 points for his team to kickstart the Pajero FC campaign.

It was a disappointing result for AAK S&S but they still had plenty of time to rekindle their Group A challenge.

Athletico Do Hollande were one of the leaders of the embryonic Group A table and they had the opportunity to open up a lead at the top for themselves if they could make it two wins in two games. They would meet Wilhelmus.

Wilhelmus were a much changed outfit to the Wilhelmus teams at previous eurofootballfives.com tournaments. The team from The Hague sadly hat to withdraw from the tournament in the week leading up to the event. We therefore had a willing team visiting Amsterdam who stepped into the breach and joined the tournament to play under the Wilhelmus name.

Wilhelmus had slipped to opening game defeat and the last thing they needed was to face a previous two-time tournament winner in Athletico Do Hollande. The early signs were good for Athletico in this game as they took the lead through Jerrel Fraenk from the penalty spot. Jerrel Fraenk added another from open play before Brian Sno made it 3-0 and all before half-time.

There was no way back for Wilhelmus as Athletico Do Hollande went on to wrap up a 4-0 win after the break through Owuka Appiah.

To complete Round 2 we had AAK S&S versus East Compton Eagles. If it looks a little odd that AAK S&S were playing twice in this round it is because up until the eve of the tournament Group A was a 7-team group but we had a late cancellation from Biale Orly meaning the fixtures had to be rapidly reorganized and so the running order wasn't as ideal as those in Groups B and C.

Both teams had started with wins in Round 1 but a defeat earlier in this round had arrested AAK S&S's progress. A win for them here would put them back on track and see them join Athletico Do Hollande on 6 points.

East Compton Eagles had recorded a very good 4-1 win in their opening game and were hungry for more goals in this game. They got off to a superb start as Richard Manns, Sean McCullough (2) and Andy Cockrean all scored in the first half. The game was effectively over in terms of the result but in the second half AAK S&S fought back bravely. Goals from Gary Bartley and Kevin Stork brought them back into it and reduce the arrears. The final score was 5-2 with Sachin Patel scoring East Compton Eagles second half goal.

East Compton Eagles joined Athletico Do Hollande at the summit of Group A.
