Last but not least, we come to Group C where the group began with ZVC Indoor Gent making their debut against Seleccion Balear – also on debut.

ZVC Indoor Gent were representing Belgium in the tournament. Although we have had teams from Belgium compete in corporate tournaments we have operated, ZVC Indoor Gent were the first Belgian team to compete in our public events. We wished them a warm welcome and luck for the tournament as they were pioneers for their countrymen.

Seleccion Balear were far from prepared for their eurofootballfives.com bow. At kick-off time they only had four players and whilst a fifth arrived as the game begun these were not ideal preparations. From the start you could tell ZVC Indoor Gent were a quality team and did not any assistance but this certainly helped them on their way.

Robby Ysewyn scored the opening goal for ZVC Indoor Gent in eurofootballfives.com competition before Michael Ingels added a second. When the half-time whistle blew they were in full control leading 2-0. After the break they added a third when Michael Ingels scored again – 3 goals, 3 points – the perfect start for the team from Gent.

Match 2 in Group C saw Pelugueria Mariano take on England's The Drip Trays. Both teams were also on debut and had a blank canvas on which to paint their footballing artistry.

It was a pretty even contest in the opening period as the two teams sounded each other out and felt their way into the tournament. Rafael Rivero Riga scored his team's first of the day for Pelugueria Mariano and it was the difference between the two teams as they entered half-time.

Neither could successfully find a way past their opposing goalkeeper in the second period and so we finished the game with the score still 1-0 to the Spanish team and a good opening 3 points for them. For The Drip Trays it was a positive start despite defeat and they still had four games to go to launch their 2015 Mallorca Tournament challenge.

The last two teams to get underway were Scoregasm versus Contejus Hurricanes – both representing England in the tournament draw.

Scoregasm made their eurofootballfives.com debut here at the 2011 Mallorca Tournament and finished 2nd in their group behind Quayaquil 100% of Ecuador. They went on to the Cup Semi-Finals where they lost to Policia Local de Palma (Spa) – the eventual winners. We saw Scoregasm return to eurofootballfives.com action at the 2014 Algarve Open where they were equally impressive. They were 2nd in their group again and also went on to the Cup Semi-Finals where they went out to Water Boy, 1-0. In both previous tournaments they were the most successful of the English teams on the day. They were the sister squad of 2Goals1Cup in this tournament.

We'll look at Contejus Hurricanes in more detail later but based on previous results in our tournaments you'd have made Scoregasm favourites for this game and they lived up to that billing when they opened the scoring through Steve Woods in the first half. Contejus Hurricanes were unable to find an equalizer in the second period as the Scoregasm defence remained resolute.

Scoregasm saw the game out and claimed all 3 points with a 1-0 win. It was a decent performance from Contejus Hurricanes but there was to be no reward in terms of points for their efforts.
