Morgans Magaluf and Saipan FC kicked off Round 4. It was a team yet to win versus a team yet to lose as Saipan FC started the game as favourites. The Irish team could go top (temporarily at least) with a win and really advance their claims for Cup qualification. Morgans Magaluf were not entirely out of it but a win for Plate qualification was more likely to be their aim.

Saipan FC had already competed this season at the 2015 Bratislava Fives where they finished 2 nd in their 5 team group and qualified for the Cup for the second time. They exited at the Quarter-Final stage by the narrowest of margins, 1-0, to Slovakian side Fireball. They were looking in equally good form here in Mallorca and that form looked set to continue as they lead at half-time.

Goals from Cormac McLoughlin and Ignacio Mochales Cuesta put Saipan FC in the ascendency but Morgans Magaluf were not out of it yet due to a Leigh Hame goal. Ignacio Mochales Cuesta was emerging as the leading contender for the top goalscorer award at this stage and two second half goals to complete his hat-trick not only helped his team to victory but also helped his claim for individual honours.

Rob Croll's second of the day for Morgans Magaluf was to be another consolation goal for him as Saipan FC claimed a 4-2 win and were in pole position for Cup qualification.

Next up was the biggest game of Group B so far as joint leaders Policia Mallorca would meet unbeaten We've Got Wood. The result of this game would have a big bearing on these team's destinies in the knockout stages this afternoon.

Policia Local won our first ever Mallorca Tournament (2011) when they defeated Ecuador's Quayaquil 100% in an entertaining final, 5-2. In 2012 they found the competition tougher finishing 3 rd in their group behind Sportsman Arenal and FC Radbroke (2011 Prague Masters and 2013 Algarve Open winners). They then went out 2-0 in the Cup Quarter-Finals, in a quirk of fate, as they drew Sportsman Arenal again. In the 2013 Mallorca Fives in May they failed to qualify for the Cup for the first time and went out in the Plate Semi-Finals. Normal service was resumed in June 2013's Mallorca Tournament as they won Group B but were surprisingly knocked out at the Quarter-Final stage, 2-1, by Tommy's Tits. Laying as Palma Select in 2014 they finished joint top of their group before losing out in the Cup Final to Cheesecake FC.

A win here would mean they would have one foot in the door of another Cup qualification but they would have to beat a resilient and battling We've Got Wood team first. We've Got Wood had remained unbeaten but a couple of draws had slowed their progress. If they could claim victory here then they would join Saipan FC at the top.

We've Got Wood had been goalless at half-time in all 3 of their previous games – make that 4 as it was 0-0 at half-time in this one. Policia Local were no strangers to this either as they were 0-0 at half-time in Round 3 before finding a second half winner. It was déjà vu for Policia Local who repeated the feat with Fidel Alonso's fourth of the day – the only strike of the game. Policia Local went top with their third straight win.

Stanford FC came into Round 4 with just one defeat but sitting in fifth due to a couple of draws. Dynamo Gunt had 2 wins, 1 defeat and were joint top going into Round 4. Having seen Saipan FC and Policia Local both win, Dynamo Gunt now needed a win of their own to go back to joint top level with the Spanish and a point ahead of the Irish. A draw or defeat would leave them in third.

Stanford FC started this game as they had begun their first game – by scoring the opening goal. Mark Reed scored the first goal then and he repeated the feat here. Stanford FC had found themselves pegged back against Saipan FC but here against Dynamo Gunt they doubled their lead thanks to Tom Field.

This was potentially disastrous for Dynamo Gunt but they hit back through Niall Everett's first of the day and recovered the situation through Hamish Toon to restore parity at 2-2. It must have been soul-destroying for Stanford FC to see another lead extinguished. It was still only half-time.

In the second half goals were conspicuous by their absence compared to the first period. Dynamo Gunt desperately tried to find the winner in the second half that would've taken them back to the top but, alas for them, it was in vain. For Stanford FC it was a third draw in four games – the draw specialists of the tournament.
