At the start of Round 3, we had La Briocha versus Son Gual. This was the first heavyweight contest of Group A as it pitched together the two teams level at the top of the table. Both teams had 2 wins out of 2, both teams had a goal difference of +3 but Son Gual currently lead the way having scored 1 more than their opponents.

These two teams had met before – 12 months ago here at the 2014 Mallorca Tournament. It was a Plate Quarter-Final that saw Brioche emerge triumphant 3-1 on their way to winning the Plate. Based on the evidence today, these two teams would be aiming higher and looking for the Cup competition today.

A year ago we had four goals to enjoy between the two teams. In the first half here we had none. A draw would not be the worst result in the world as it would open up a 4 point lead for these two on their nearest challengers but if either team could grab a winner they would be in command of Group A.

As the sands of time ran out on the second half there was still to be no goal and we finished with the points shared, 0-0.

Next up we had Wrexham Rednecks versus 2Goals1Cup. At the start of Round 3 these teams were 4th and 5th in the table and both needed the points to help propel them up Group A.

Wrexham Rednecks came into the game looking for their first points and first win of the day. In their last outing they had scored their first goal of the day and in the first half here they were to score their second – through David Roberts. 2Goals1Cup came into the game with momentum having won in Round 2 and a goal from Simon Cross meant it was 1-1 at half-time.

After the break we had the third goal of the game swung the game into Wrexham Redneck's favour as David Roberts scored his second of the game. Leighton Jones added a third to give the Welsh team a 2-goal cushion before Tom Pearce sealed the victory to make it 4-1.

It was a vital win for Wrexham Rednecks who were one of three teams now on three points.

It was 3rd placed The Undatables against 6th placed Centrale Paris FC in the final fixture of Round 3. If Centrale Paris could claim victory they would make it very interesting behind the top two and put the four remaining teams all level. A draw for The Undatables would put them in 3rd and a win could close the gap on the top two to just one point.

Centrale Paris had started slowly in their previous two games but got off to a better start here as they lead by the odd goal in three at the break. Goals from Thibauld Vincent and Pierre Matheron outgunned Chris Lee's strike and the French lead 2-1 at the break.

In the second half Centrale Paris extended their lead to 3-1 when Bertrand Desmottes found the back of the net. It was Desmottes again who made the game safe as Centrale Paris ran out 4-1 victors.

It was just what Centrale Paris needed. Whilst the two Spanish teams had a commanding 4 point lead at the top the other four teams in Group A were in a real battle.
