Last but not least, we come to Group D where the group began with Palma Select (Spa) versus The A Team (Fra).

The A Team visit Mallorca from Paris. They make their third eurofootballfives.com appearance after a debut in the 2013 Krakow Trophy. They were on course for victory leading the Cup Final 1-0 before Budapest Celtic came back to win 2-1. They also played in May this year at the 2014 Budapest Fives – an injury ravaged squad finished 3rd in the group before a Plate Semi-Final exit to 2-times Cup champions and eventual Plate winners – FC Radbroke. They feature a very experienced player in Fateh Bekhouche who was a member of the Grant Thornton squad who won the 2013 Mallorca Fives last year. In addition, they also feature Randy Tchutio / Dydynho the 2013 Krakow Trophy top goalscorer with 14 goals and the 2014 Budapest Fives top goalscorer with 7 goals. He will look to become only the 2 nd person in eurofootballfives.com history to win this award on his opening 3 tournament appearances.

Dydynho was unable to get on the scoresheet in this one but his colleague Momo did. His goal earned a point as Misho Gechev scored for Palma Select and we finished 1-1.

Match 2 in Group D saw Taylor's Tits meet FC Dynamoes. Taylor's Tits were the last of 3 “Taylor” teams to get their tournament challenge started. Their other two teams had mixed fortunes and the Tits would hope to emulate the Terriers rather than the Tigers squad.

FC Dynamoes made their debut in the 2013 Lisbon Tournament getting off to a flyer winning their first two games before results tailed off and they narrowly missed out on Cup qualification. They played in the Plate knock-out with a resounding 6-0 Semi-Final win but missed out in the Final to Groundforce Lisboa. They boasted the tournament's top goalscorer in the form of John Stead who scored 15 goals on the day.

John Stead continued in Mallorca where he left off in Lisbon as he scored twice in the opening period to put FC Dynamoes in charge. He went on to complete a hat-trick after the break before adding a fourth goal for good measure. Tom Duerden then got in on the act to complete a 5-0 win.

The final team to get underway in Group D was Athletic 8Minute Bilbao. The team were travelling as part of the County (Re)United group which had seen Paris St Gentleman and Booka Juniors already in action. As with Taylor's Tits, Athletic 8Minute Bilbao's sister squads had varying success – Booka Juniors (4 wins), Paris St Gentleman (4 defeats). Athletic 8Minute Bilbao came up against Palma Select for their opening fixture.

Palma Select began with a draw in their opening game and would hope to build on this solid start. The Spanish team got off to the perfect start in this fixture as Stoyko Dimitrov scored two early goals. Manol Bebev and Ilyan Tochev helped Palma Select race into a 3-0 and then a 4-0 lead and it was only half-time.

Athletic 8Minute Bilbao became more solid after the break and stopped the bleeding but they were unable to penetrate at the other end and so the half-time score became the full-time score.

The A Team were next in action against Taylor's Tits as the French team were looking to emulate Palma Select by adding a victory to a solid opening point. They could join the Spanish team at the top if they could secure the win. Taylor's Tits had slipped to opening game defeat and would look to bounce back in style.

Unfortunatley for Taylor's Tits they bounced back like a lead ball on concrete as the A Team got off to a flyer. Abdou got the ball rolling before Dydynho opened his account to make it 2-0 and then doubled his tally for 3-0. The referee blew for half-time.

Chris Mb scored in the second half to make it 4-0 and Jeanco turned in for 5-0. It was a comprehensive win for The A Team. Taylor's Tits were languishing at the foot of the table.

The game that brought us to the halfway stage of Group D was Athletic 8Minute Bilbao and FC Dynamoes. FC Dynamoes had started off in fine form notching up a commanding victory. If they could match that in this game then they would go to the top of the table. For Athletic 8Minute Bilbao it was an opportunity to avenge an opening game defeat.

It started off well for Athleitc 8Minute Bilbao as Mark Arthur put them ahead. Tom Duerden pulled FC Dynamoes level for 1-1 and at half-time it was game on.

In the second half, FC Dynamoes turned the game around and took the lead through John Stead. You could be forgiven for thinking they would be on their way to two opening game victories (just like Lisbon 2013) but Athletic 8Minute Bilbao had other ideas as a Mark Robinson thunderbolt meant the points were shared in a 2-2 draw.

It was a great game and a result that put FC Dynamoes in a three-way tie at the top of the group. Athletic 8Minute Bilbao had their first point of the day and could use this as a springboard to climb up the Group D table.
