Two groups down, two to go as we turn our attentions to Group C. The first game saw Con Bun drawn against Whiteley FC.

Whiteley FC were making their 6 th appearance in European action with eurofootballfives to follow up their debut in the 2008 Amsterdam Fives. In the Dutch capital they reached the Cup Semi-Finals where they narrowly lost an 8-goal thriller, 5-3. In 2010, they played in the 2010 Algarve Open winning Group D before going out in the quarter-finals to Portuguese team Water Boy. 2011 saw a visit to the inaugural Budapest Fives with one team narrowly losing on penalties to eventual winners Al Kaloida (Hungary) in the Plate Quarter-Finals and their other team winning the 4-team Wooden Spoon convincingly in the final 6-1 against Sweden's A Magyar Pekseg.

2012 saw the start of a Mallorca Tournament trilogy. That year, Whiteley Stags went furthest of their two squads reaching the Plate Semi-Finals. In 2013, their two teams finished 5th and 6th in the group phase and both exited at the Plate Quarter-Finals stage. 2014 marked the completion of a Mallorca trilogy with their strengths concentrated into one squad.

Con Bun were on debut and so we eagerly awaited our first glimpse of their footballing credentials. It did not start well for them as Whiteley FC made a confident start to the tournament. An Adam Wood double put them in command before Francisco Javier Vico Hercuardo pulled one back to 2-1. Whiteley FC had enough in the tank to see the game out.

County (Re)United played in the 2011 Valencia Fives where they finished 3 rd in their 5 team group before bowing out in the Quarter-Final stage to Coverton Road. They followed this up in the 2012 Krakow Trophy with a twin-pronged attack as Half Parisian Saint Germain and D'ya Want Florentina. D'ya Want Florentina were the most successful of the two squads reaching the Plate Semi-Finals. They had two teams again in the 2013 Barcelona Fives - Farcelona finishing 3 rd in Group B and JF & The Pullbacks finishing 2 nd in Group E. Both teams qualified for the Plate competition in which JF & The Pullbacks went all the way to Final before a 1-0 defeat to Ireland's Depo All Stars. In 2014, they brought 3 teams to the party for Jonathan Croft's stag weekend. The teams are Paris St Gentleman, Booka Juniors and Athletic 8Minute Abilbao.

It was the team featuring the stag, Booka Juniors, who kicked off next against another unknown Spanish team in the form of Waxus. Waxus were on debut so we did not know what to expect but they found their English opposition a tough proposition.

A goal in each half for Michael Meredith and Domenico Di Maria secured a solid 2-0 victory for Booka Juniors.

Taylors Terriers had sat patiently during the first two games but they would begin their 2014 Mallorca Tournament challenge next up on Pitch C against Con Bun. The Terriers were another stag group with 3 teams in the tournament whereby the stag featured in the Group C squad – Sam Taylor of the eponymous Taylor's Terriers.

Con Bun came into the game on the back of a defeat and would be looking to bounce back and pick up some points in this one. Taylor's Terriers were rumoured to be the strongest of the Taylor party and it certainly looked that way as they took a 1-0 first half lead through Ben Soanes.

After the break the Terriers eased away from their opponents as Will Abbs, Sam Taylor, Jamie Wright and Ben Soanes again all helped to extend the lead. There was a consolation goal for Con Bun from Jose Miguel but they were well beaten, 5-1.

Game 4 of Group C saw two teams entering the field of play with a win behind them in their opening fixtures. Both teams had seen off Spanish opposition and were looking to extend their promising starts to the campaign.

At the end of the first half there was nothing to separate the two sides as we turned round all square at 0-0. We were to witness some goalscoring action in the second half and unfortunately for Whiteley FC fans it was all against them. Booka Juniors cranked up the pressure and turned on the style to bag four second half goals and make it two wins out of two for them.

Jonathon Croft bagged a goal, Michael Meredith made it two goals in two games and there was a brace for Simon Crowther. It was a cracking start to the tournament for Booka Juniors.

It was disappointment for Whiteley FC but they were still in the mid-table positions with a couple of games to advance their credentials in this tournament.

It had been a poor morning for Spanish teams in Group C with 3 defeats in the 3 games they had played thus far. Waxus had the opportunity to improve things but they faced a Taylor's Terriers team who had looked in fine fettle in their first fixture. Having seen off Con Bun could they consign Waxus to another defeat?

Put simply, yes they could. A first half double from Will Abbs put them firmly in control and when Chris Nobbs made it 3-0 after the break there was no way back for Waxus. There was still time for stag Sam Taylor to score in Europe (in footballing terms – don't worry future Mrs Taylor) for the second time in as many games and complete a comfortable 4-0 win.

It meant that at the half-way stage in Group C the table looked very healthy for the travelling teams. Booka Juniors and Taylor's Terriers were looking ominously good at the top, the Spanish were struggling at the foot of the table whilst the future of Whiteley FC could go either way at this stage.
