Last but not least, we come to Group C where the group began with the Netherland's FC Spritz playing against England's Holsten Pils. It was due to be Kempi's Elftal representing the Dutch in this fixture but they had to cancel due to injuries. We are grateful to FC Spritz for stepping in at the last minute to keep Group C at 6-teams.

Could this be a Denmark at the 1992 European Championship moment for FC Spritz? Denmark were not supposed to be in Euro 92 but they qualified after Yugoslavia were disqualified due to warfare in their country. Not only did Denmark enter the tournament but they went on to win it. An omen for FC Spritz?

It was a tough start for the Dutch as it was Holsten Pils who hit the front and quickly established a 3-0 lead. Alex Burns bagged two goals and Sam Woods chipped in with a third to see the English team in full command at half-time. Mimi reduced the lead to 3-1 in the second half but Alex Burns hat-trick goal extended the lead to 4-1. Marius cut the lead to two for FC Spritz but Alex Burns was on hand again with his fourth of the game to complete a 5-2 win for Holsten Pils.

Match 2 in Group C saw Springfield B versus Cruz Del Sur.

Cruz Del Sur came into the tournament on the back of their best performance to date in our tournaments. They came close but no cigar at the 2018 Algarve Open. Cruz Del Sur finished 2nd and undefeated in their 8-team group to qualify for the Cup competition. They secured 3 wins and 4 draws scoring 7 goals and conceding just 1 goal along the way. This Amsterdam venue is a much higher scoring venue so if they could replicate that defensive record it would be something special!

Cruz Del Sur picked up a 1-0 win in the Quarter-Finals over RSC Andylecht (who were here competing in the Sixes today). They then pulled off a great 1-0 win over 3x eurofootballfives.com winners L'Albiceleste (Fra). In the Cup Final, 9 Nana Budds proved to be the thorn in the Cruz Del Sur side with a 1-0 win. It meant runners-up medals for Cruz Del Sur.

This was a really tight game with nothing between the teams. 0-0 draws are rare at this venue as we'd only had 3 in 161 games in the Fives over the last 3 seasons. We had our first today though. A point for each team.

The Hoover Dams played their first event at the 2016 Riga Tournament as Yac Club. They finished fourth and qualified for the Plate. Unfortunately for them they could not change their mini run of form in the next phase as they went out to DHFC (who went on to win the Plate).

At the 2017 Barcelona Fives they entered 2 squads as T Bashers and P Slayers. The T Bashers struggled and lost their first 6 games. They finished on a high with a 1-0 win over Spanish side Gintam but they missed out on qualification for the knock-out phase.

They took 2 teams to the 2018 Mallorca Tournament. Yac Club Reserves finished fourth in their 6-team group to qualify for the Cup competition. They left at the Quarter-Final stage as Yac Club Reserves succumbed 4-0 to eventual winners Bar Maruru (Spa). They began their 2019 Amsterdam Fives campaign against Legendarische IT Werkgever (Hol).

The Hoover Dams opened up in fine style as they bagged a 5-0 win with a hat-trick from Jonathan Trott and a brace from Connor Glynn.
