After 58 games of football we came down to the big one. Game 59 – The 2019 Amsterdam Fives Cup Final.

The two teams set to do battle for the honour and glory of victory represented France and England. It was The A Team versus Epsilon Rovers. The A Team were bidding to become the first French team to win this title. Epsilon Rovers were aiming to become the seventh English winner of this tournament. The Amsterdam Fives was the most lucrative for English teams on our circuit of European tournaments.

Let's have a look at the two team's record to preview the action:

The A Team

Unbeaten in 7 games – won 6, drawn 1.

Best goal difference in the tournament +16.

Top scoring team with 25 goals.

5th best defence with 9 goals conceded.

Appearing in third eurofootballfives.com Cup Final.

Seeking first eurofootballfives.com title.

Epsilon Rovers

Won 5, drawn 1, lost 1.

Joint 2nd best defence in the tournament with just 6 goals conceded.

Joint most clean sheets in the tournament (4).

Third best goal difference in the tournament +14.

6th top scoring team on 20 goals.

Appearing in first eurofootballfives.com Cup Final (on debut)

So, those are the facts and figures – where's your money?

The A Team were trying to avenge Cup Final defeats at the 2013 Krakow Trophy and 2015 Bratislava Fives – both times they lost by the odd goal (2-1 and 1-0 respectively). They were desperately hoping to win that first title. If they were successful they would become the fifth French team to lift a eurofootballfives.com title.

With the match underway it was Epsilon Rovers who quickly established themselves in the Cup Final and they did it in style. They were simply sensational in a first half that saw them race to a 3-0 lead before the break. A goal from Evan Day and two goals from Nick Petrou made them strong favourites. In 13 seasons and over 100 tournaments we can only recall one team who lost a final from being 3-0 up at half-time (Saga Louts at the 2013 Krakow Trophy Plate Final. 3-0 up, drew 3-3 and then lost on pens).

The A Team had a massive job on their hands and it was to get that bit tougher when Epsilon Rovers made it 4-0 (Evan Day's second of the game, 11 th of the tournament) and the title was effectively wrapped up. There was time for Randy Tchutio to bag a consolation but, alas for French fans, it was only to be a consolation. Final score, 4-1.

We offer our consolations to The A Team who were absolutely superb yet again and put in a stunning effort. They were so close to completing that maiden eurofootballfives.com title.

There was some personal consolation for Randy Tchutio who became the first man to collect 4 x top goalscorers trophies in our events. His haul of 17 goals meant he added the 2019 Amsterdam Fives trophy to the ones he collected at the 2013 Krakow Trophy, 2014 Budapest Fives and 2015 Bratislava Fives. Many congratulations to him.

Our congratulations go to Epsilon Rovers – 2019 Amsterdam Fives Champions! It was a great victory and a sensational way for them to announce themselves on the eurofootballfives.com scene. They were worthy winners and produced a stunning Cup Final performance to crown a great day's play.

Thank you to all the teams who competed. We hope to see you all again at another eurofootballfives.com tournament very soon.
