Group B began with AFC FYM from taking on Springfield A.

AFC FYM were making their fourth appearance in eurofootballfives.com competition following trips to Riga (2016), Barcelona (2017) and Mallorca (2018). Their best performance to date was their most recent at the 2018 Mallorca Tournament. They had 2 wins and 3 defeats to finish fourth in the table and were one of 8 teams to make the Cup. They lost 2-0 to Ecuador 100% who finished runners-up (and then won the 2019 Mallorca title).

Springfield were on debut and it was the debutants who got off to a flyer. There was a goal in each half for the men in yellow as they secured their first win at the first attempt. Tom Waters scored their first eurofootballfives.com goal before the break. Jamie Somers secured the win in the second half whilst Roberto Beschizza kept a clean sheet. So far so good for Springfield.

Next up was Rothmans versus The A Team as England met France.

These teams had met before at the 2018 Gdansk Tournament. On that occasion, Rothmans were playing as Monaco Tiny Gdanskers/I Love United & Drinking Shandies. In the final game of Group A, The A Team drew 1-1 with Monaco Tiny Gdanskers. It was a result that saw the French team win Group A and the English team finish second – both qualified for the Cup. Tim Werger was on target for Monaco Tiny Gdanskers last year and was in the Rothmans team today. Randy Tchutio was the man who scored for the A Team in this fixture in Poland.

In Amsterdam in 2019 it was a win for the A Team. The man they call Damien Griezmann opened the scoring in a first half that saw just the one goal. Abdou then doubled the lead to make it 2-0 after the break. Randy Tchutio then added to his 2018 goal with the final goal of this game to secure a winning start for the French.

So, without further ado we headed on to game 3 of Group B which was the Netherlands versus England as True IT Legends (Hol) played VK Dons (Eng). Both teams were on debut and so they had a blank canvas upon which to paint their footballing artistry. Let the games commence……

We reached half time and the canvas remained blank in terms of goals with both defences on top. The two teams changed ends with the scores level at 0-0. We don't get too many 0-0 draws at this venue and this game would be no different as the goals arrived in the second half.

Although we had goals, the two teams could still not be separated. Goals for Lorenzo Sandvliet (True IT Legends) and Will Hick (VK Dons) cancelled each other out. As the referee blew the final whistle the teams were locked together at 1-1.

It was a point each for the two teams. Only time would tell if this was one point gained or two points dropped.
