With their first games under their belts it was Round 2 for all the teams in Group A and time to settle in to the tournament. Up next on Pitch 1 was Shahs of Sunset versus FC Dwaze Zaken.

Shahs of Sunset were making their 9th eurofootballfives.com appearance. It started for them at the 2012 Valencia Fives. They topped their group and qualified for the Cup competition where they lost out to Mestallaban (Ire) on penalties in the Quarter-Finals. Since then they have gone on to win the group 6 out of 8 times, they have reached 2 x Cup Semi-Finals and also a Plate Final.

They had started confidently with victory in Round 1 and were now up against a team who had lost their opener 4-0. It looked like Shahs of Sunset were on their way again when Paul Lehair notched his third of the tournament. Dirk Jan Mudde had other ideas though as he scored FC Dwaze Zaken's first goal in eurofootballfives.com competition to level it up.

The second half kicked off at 1-1 and Shahs of Sunset were to hit the front again with Anes Jusic bagging his first goal of the day. FC Dwaze Zaken were not to be beaten though as Dirk Jan Mudde grabbed another equalizer to earn his team a point.

Next up on Pitch 1 was Luca Toni FC versus Sloterdijk. The former had opened up with a victory, the latter had opened up with a defeat. The Swiss could go top of the table with a win.

Luca Toni FC made their debut at the 2017 Krakow Trophy playing as Krakowcaine. They were the stand out team in the group phase as they secured 4 wins and 1 draw to secure the Group A title. It was a surprise when they were knocked out by Slovakia's GSF Drunkerz in the Cup Semi-Final (2-1). There was personal success for Nacho Mochales who was the tournament top goalscorer.

Luca Toni FC continued their good early form as they opened up a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Marco Amezcua and Matthijs Withagen. As they did in Round 1, Sloterdijk pulled a goal back before half-time – Ali Beny scoring for the Dutch. In the second half Luca Toni FC pulled clear of their opponents. Matthijs Withagen scored his fourth of the tournament and Beni Weber sealed the 4-1 win.

To complete Round 2 we had Cruz Del Surely versus Epsilon Rovers. So far in Round 2 we had seen first game winners versus first game losers and we were to have a third such fixture here. So far, the first game winners had gone on to pick up a draw and a win. If Epsilon Rovers could win here they would join Luca Toni FC at the top. Could Cruz Del Surely buck the trend and become the first team to bounce back from opening defeat with a victory?

Cruz Del Surely had appeared in our Amsterdam Fives tournament before back in 2015. They appeared as Cruz Del Sur B on that occasion and 4 of their squad today (Andy Baines, Maxim Harry, Danny McGhee and Adam Cummins) appeared four years ago. They finished fourth in their six team group and would have qualified for the Plate had Storm Zeijko not lead to the abandonment of the tournament. They had performed well despite hugely challenging conditions before the Code Red weather warning curtailed the day's activities.

There was just one goal to separate the teams at half-time as an Evan Day goal put Epsilon Rovers ahead. In the second half Epsilon Rovers moved through the gears and pulled away from their opponents. Phil Morris made it 2-0 before an Anton Cole double made it 4-0. Phil Morris put the cherry on a 5-0 cake as Epsilon Rovers went top courtesy of goal difference.
