At the start of Round 3 we had AFC FYM versus VK Dons. AFC FYM had endured a tough start to the morning with two defeats but the mitigating circumstance was the fact they had played the top two in the table. Time was still on their side to reach the Cup but they probably needed to finish the group with 3 wins.

VK Dons had been solid but two draws had stalled their progress up the table as they sat in fourth position. They really needed a win to get value from their performances so far today. They had drawn their previous four halves of football with the last three all being 1-1.

In this fixture, VK Dons reached the interval a goal to the good thanks to a Harry McGhee strike. With the wind in their sails they increased that lead after the break as Will Hick scored his second and third goals of the tournament. At 3-0 VK Dons were sitting pretty. An Alex Brown goal for AFC FYM prevented VK Dons' Jeff Sload picking up a clean sheet but his team had all 3 points. They moved up to third.

The A Team (Fra) visit Amsterdam from Paris. They make their eighth eurofootballfives.com appearance after a debut in the 2013 Krakow Trophy. They were on course for victory leading the Cup Final 1-0 before Budapest Celtic came back to win 2-1. They followed this up at the 2014 Budapest Fives – an injury ravaged squad finished 3rd in the group before a Plate Semi-Final exit to 2-times Cup champions and eventual Plate winners – FC Radbroke. A second European trip of 2014 saw them fly to the Mallorca Tournament. They finished 3 rd in their group again – a group which featured the 2011 winners, Palma Select, and also the Plate Runners-Up of the 2013 Lisbon Tournament, FC Dynamoes. They qualified for the Plate winning their Quarter-Final 3-2 on penalties over Spain's Con Bun but then lost out to another Spanish team, Brioche, in the Semi-Finals.

Their next appearance was at the 2015 Bratislava Fives where they went all the way to the Cup Final for the second time. Like the first time though they narrowly missed out on the ultimate prize. This time they lost 1-0 to Slovakian side GSF Drunkerz. At the 2016 Prague Tournament they finished second in Group B behind CIS Committee (Blr). They went on to the Cup Semi-Finals where they exited the tournament at the hands of Team Extreme (4-1).

They then appeared at the 2017 Vilnius Tournament. In Lithuania, The A Team won Group A with 2 wins and 2 draws. They qualified for the Cup and met Skidmarks in the Quarter-Finals. The two teams played out a 0-0 draw before The A Team went out 3-2 on penalties.

Most recently they travelled to Gdansk in 2018. They won Group A with 13 points from a possible 15 to qualify for the Cup again. In the Quarter-Finals they defeated RAF Fylingdales 2-1 but lost in the Semi-Finals to Polish team Bulota PK.

They had 2 wins already and were dominant as they picked up win #3. They brushed True IT Legends aside 7-1 with goals from Randy Tchutio (4), Damien Griezmann (2) and Abdel “Mbappe”. Bjorn Veldmeijer scored his second of the tournament for True IT Legends.

Game #9 of Group B was Springfield A versus Rothmans. At the start of Round 3 these two teams sat in second and third positions respectively. Springfield A were looking to maintain their unbeaten record and if they could claim a win would move within two points of The A Team. Rothmans could move above their opponents with a win of their own.

It was Springfield A who struck first as Benedict O'Mahony scored for the second game running. They doubled the lead before the break as O'Mahony moved on to 3 goals for the tournament.

Was there a way back for Rothmans? If they had scored the first goal of the second half there could well have been. However, Springfield A turned 2-0 into 3-0 as Tom Waters scored his second of the competition. At 3-0 there was no way back for Rothmans. Roberto Beschizza had kept his second clean sheet of the tournament.
