We began Round 2 with The A Team versus AFC FYM.

On debut in Riga, AFC FYM (playing as Yac Club) enjoyed a good start with a 1-0 win over FC Maroon. They then suffered a 2-1 setback to Zemniecki but bounced back with a 6-1 win over The Crazy Gang. Defeats followed to FK Prienai (Ltu) and Melee FC (Eng) but they had done enough to finish fourth and qualify for the Plate. In the Quarters they went out to DHFC (who went on to win the Plate).

12 months on in Barcelona, playing as P Slayers, the team won 2 and drew 1 of their 7 group games as they finished in 5th position with a haul of 7 points. They qualified for the Trophy competition and beat Tysers, 2-1, in the Quarter-Finals. They then lost 1-0 to CBD Boys of Oman in the Semis. Then came their appearance in Mallorca where they qualified for the Cup (see previous round for details).

The English team started off with a 2-0 defeat today. They were competitive in the first half here as they held their opponents to 0-0 at half-time. The A Team came into the game on the back of a 3-0 victory and in the second half they were on their way to win #2 in Group B.

The second half was the Randy Tchutio (Pogba) show as he scored a hat-trick to earn his team all 3 points. AFC FYM did get off the mark in the goal scoring stakes as David Netherway scored their first of the day.

Game #5 of Group B was VK Dons versus Springfield A. Both teams had made their debut this morning and both had done pretty well. VK Dons had produced a solid start with a 1-1 draw and were now looking to kick on and find their first victory.

Springfield A had begun with a 2-0 victory and they could go joint top of the table if they could produce the same result here in Round 2. The teams looked well matched after the opening exchanges as Daniel Somers (Springfield A) and Jake Briattain (VK Dons) exchanged goals. It was 1-1 at half-time.

The second half followed a similar pattern with Benedict O'Mahony (Springfield A) and Edward Mallett (VK Dons) swapping goals. It was 2-2 at full-time.

The game that would complete Round 2 was True IT Legends against Rothmans.

Rothmans featured at the 2018 Gdansk Tournament for their eurofootballfives.com debut. As Monaco Tiny Gdanskers, the first squad had a good group phase with 2 wins, 2 draws and just the 1 defeat to finish second in Group A. It saw them qualify for the elite Cup competition but they left as the Quarter-Final stage following a 2-0 defeat to Lithuania's Lilchicago.

The second squad, I Love United & Drinking Shandies, finished joint third in terms of points (6) in Group C behind the eventual two finalists. They were one of three teams on 6 points and finished fourth on goal difference which resulted in Plate qualification. They came unstuck at the Quarter-Final stage following 3-0 defeat to Fresher's FC. Rothmans today has 2 players from the Monaco Tiny Gdanskers & 3 from the I Love United squad.

Rothmans had a tough start to their campaign against The A Team but would hope to put that behind them and bounce back with a victory here. Their opponents True IT Legends had started off with a solid 1-1 draw with VK Dons.

The first half belonged to Rothmans as they opened up a 2-0 lead. Tim Werger opened the scoring and then Josh Walker on his first eurofootballfives.com tour made it two. In the second half Tom Russell increased the lead to 3-0 and the game looked done in terms of the three points. Bjorn Veldmeijer hit a consolation for True IT Legends but Rothmans had the win, 3-1.
