Group C was really hotting up as we entered Round 4. Match 10 of the group was to be the biggest game of the group so far. Club Atlantico Nationale versus ZVC Indoor Gent. These were the two top teams with both boasting a 100% record. One (or both) these teams would lose that record by full-time. BSP FC sat in third would also be eagerly awaiting the result of this game.

The winners of this tie would no doubt be favourites to go on and win Group C. The losers would leave themselves work to do going into the final round of fixtures. A draw would ensure both teams stayed first and second but would allow BSP FC the opportunity to reduce their lead from 3 points to a solitary point.

Going into the game you may think that ZVC Indoor Gent would be slight favourites with a goal difference of +6 compared to Club Atlantico Nationale's +3 but there really was little in it. Senne Morren scored the winner in Round 3 for the Belgian team and he followed this up with another crucial goal in the first half here. It gave ZVC Indoor Gent a narrow 1-0 lead at half-time.

Club Atlantico Nationale had trailed 1-0 to BSP FC in Round 2 and turned that game around to win 2-1. Could they do it again here in Round 4. They did get on the score-sheet in the second half through David Morelli but they couldn't quite complete the hat-trick due to a Michael Ingels goal.

Club Atlantico Nationale liked a 2-1 score (they'd won all 3 of previous their games by this score) but they were on the wrong end of it this time as ZVC Indoor Gent opened up a 3 point lead at the top.

How would ZVC's win effect the other teams at the top? It meant BSP FC had the chance to go level with Club Atlantico Nationale in second place. BSP FC started the round in third position despite overwhelmingly possessing the best goal difference in the group. They were up against Shaolin Soccer in the next game on Pitch C.

Shaolin Soccer were not out of the mix for the Cup qualification places. If they could win this one they then had a game to finish against Purnell Youth. So, if they were to win here it was still conceivable they could finish on 9 points and have every chance of qualifying. There was no room for slip ups now though.

BSP FC were 4-0 up at half-time in their previous game and they almost emulated that feat here – they would have to settle for just the three goals this time. The game was effectively over by the break. Although Shaolin Soccer got into it more in the second half the damage had already been done. The teams shared two second half goals as the match ended 4-1. Alexander Richardson scored his second hat-trick in as many games for BSP FC with Kyle McLellan edging his tally on to 6 for the day.

Shaolin Soccer's hopes of Cup qualification were over. BSP FC's were very much alive.

To complete Round 4 we had the two teams at the foot of the table meeting in direct opposition. The two teams were hunting down their first points of the tournament and this was the ideal opportunity to get a confidence boosting win on the board.

We felt Purnell Youth were in a little bit of a false position for what their performances merited. With the exception of the second half in their first game they had remained competitive with two 2-1 defeats and they were trailing just 2-1 before that second half blitz from BSP FC in Round 1. Sutton On Tour's results had been more consistent – 5-1, 4-1, 6-0. We had a sneaking suspicion for Purnell Youth in this one.

We had a thrilling first half to enjoy and four goals to savour. The teams shared the goals equally as goals from Haydon Downing and Joe McShee (Sutton on Tour) cancelled out those from Connor White and Tom Cook (Purnell Youth).

The second half was equally close with the two teams trading blows. It was Purnell Youth who came out on top with Connor White and Tom Cook outgunning Joe McShee in the second period to win the game 4-3. Tom Cook by the way now had 5 for the tournament and retained his record of scoring in every game – a remarkable achievement for a player in a team that was struggling for results.
