up we had Naranjitos versus Vieze Vu. At the
start of Round 3 these teams were 5th and 3rd
in the table respectively.
Naranjitos
had found life difficult so far today which
was a bit of a surprise. At their previous eurofootballfives.com
appearance they recorded 7 wins out of 7 at
the 2016 Barcelona Fives in the group phase.
Today, they had 2 defeats from 2 so far but
all was not lost. They had 9 points to play
for and could still make the Cup.
The
Spanish faced a tough task against Vieze Vu
who were unbeaten so far with 4 points out of
6. However, the Spanish finally looked to be
finding their form as they opened up a 3-1 lead
by half-time. Goals from Luis Imbernon Bano
and David Moya Aparicio (2) put them on top.
Tim
Van Gelder scored the first of the game for
Vieze Vu who hit back sensationally in the second
half. Tim Van Gelder went on to complete his
hat-trick and there was a double strike from
Stefan Bijwan as the Dutch wrestled momentum
from the Spanish. However, it was not one way
traffic as Javier Sanches Flores scored twice
in the second period for Naranjitos.
It
was a superb game and the highest scoring match
of Group A. The match finished 5-5 and only
time would tell if this was a point gained or
two points lost.
