So,
who would take their place in the Final from
the second Semi-Final? The two teams set to
do battle were BSP FC against JK Silvertown
– guaranteeing English representation in the
tournament finale.
In
Cup Semi-Finals we often get cagey low-scoring
and evenly-contested matches. The first Semi-Final
on pitch A was the antithesis of this with a
8 goal thriller. This game followed the same
pattern with 7 goals to savour. The gathering
crowds watching on were certainly getting their
money's worth.
Both
teams were in a Cup Semi-Final at a eurofootballfives.com
event for the first time. It looked hard to
pick a winner but if you were going to be pressed
you would probably go for BSP FC with 5 wins
out of 6 so far today and also the mountain
of goals they'd been scoring. BSP FC also had
the better tournament goal difference coming
into the game. However, JK Silvertown had just
been Club Atlantico Nationale who, in turn,
had defeated BSP FC back in the group phase.
It
goes without saying that those stats meant nothing
on the field here and the teams played out an
entertaining first half. BSP FC had forged a
3-1 lead by the time the referee blew for the
change of ends. The change of ends did not change
the fortunes for JK Silvertown. BSP FC turned
in 3 more goals to complete an emphatic 6-1
victory. On social media we have seen that JK
Silvertown said “got our asses handed to us
in the Semi-Final”. Compliments indeed to their
opponents but a bit harsh on their own performance
we thought.
For
those keeping track of the top goalscorers,
Alex Richardson was out in front on his own
now with 4 goals in this game taking him to
19 for the day. Kyle McLellan and Zak Sandhu
also boosted their tournament tally by a goal
each.
Chris
Wright scored JK Silvertown's final goal of
the tournament to finish as his team's top marksman
with 7 goals. Well done to him and all at JK
Silvertown.
