Round 2 started with Purnell Youth versus ZVC Indoor Gent. It was a team looking to bounce back from first round defeat against a team looking to build on opening game victory.

The first game had started off well enough for Purnell Youth as, although they trailed, they were much in the game at 2-1 down. The second half would have been a chastening experience as they conceded six. This would be a big test in terms of how they could respond? It would be easy for heads to go down and set the tone for the rest of the day. However, Purnell Youth lifted themselves and put in a good performace against their illustrious Belgian opponents.

The two teams finished the half all level at 1-1. Tom Cook scored for the second goal running for Purnell Youth as did Michael Ingels for ZVC Indoor Gent. Could either team go on and find a winner in the second period?

The short answer to that is yes. Michael Ingels proved deadly in front of goal as he added his second of the game and his fourth of the tournament. The goal proved to be the killer blow and would win the game 2-1 for ZVC Indoor Gent.

ZVC Indoor Gent opened up a three point lead at the top of Group C but of course their main rivals still had a game in hand to come.

To complete Round 2 we had Club Atlantico Nationale versus BSP FC – we had two first game victors coming head to head. The winner of this fixture would join ZVC Indoor Gent at the top of Group C. A draw would leave them sharing second position.

We are not too sure if you can read too much into the first round of games as it is obviously only a very small sample size of results but BSP FC's 8-1 victory was eye catching and would mark them out as possible favourites for the tie. They seemed to live up to this billing as they took a first half lead through Zak Sandhu. It was his second goal in as many games and his strike was the only thing separating the teams at half-time.

It was probably danger time for Club Atlantico Nationale as BSP FC lead by a goal in their first game before smashing in six after the break. There was to be no repeat of this feat in Round 2 and in fact the game went the other way as Club Atlantico Nationale turned the game on its head. Club Atlantico Nationale pulled level through Curtis Sutton and then hit the front Finley Percival-Smith's third goal of the day.

The match finished 2-1 and Club Nationale were joint top of Group C but tucked in behind ZVC Indoor Gent on goal difference. They proved they could battle it out in tight competitive games as they had won both their fixtures so far by the same score (2-1).

BSP FC slipped to 3rd position.
