The
2016 Mallorca Tournament saw our largest single
tournament in the Balearics with 24 teams signed
up to take part in this year's extravaganza.
There was a strong Spanish challenge this year
and it was perhaps no surprise on the day to
see an all Spanish encounter in the Cup Final.
It was Peluqueria Mariano who emerged victorious,
3-1, over Los Pibes. The Mallorca Tournament
is proving to be a real breakthrough event for
regular teams with Cheesecake FC, Saipan FC
and Peluqueria Mariano all claiming their maiden
title here in the last three seasons.
The
Plate competition saw St Paul's College Old
Boys gunning for a third successive Plate victory
- something that has only been achieved by CSF
in the past. They came up against We've Got
Wood and it was a very competitive final. We've
Got Wood grabbed the crucial goal mid-way through
the second half and kept a clean sheet to ensure
a 1-0 success.
We
would like to thank all teams who participated
and we trust you had a cracking weekend in Mallorca
- we know we did. Hope to see you all next season!
