Last but not least, we come to Group D where the group began with We've Got Wood versus Charlie Let Us Down Again.

We've Got Wood made the trip to the 2015 Mallorca Tournament last year and had such a great time they were returning to action in 2016. Last year they were drawn in a group that featured the eventual winners, Saipan FC, and the 2011 champions, Policia Local. Creditable results saw them draw against the former and only lose 1-0 to the latter. They enjoyed a 2-1 win over Morgans Magaluf, a 0-0 draw versus Stanford FC but lost 3-1 to Dynamo Gunt to finish in 4th place and qualify for the Plate. In the Quarter-Finals they defeated 2013 Algarve Open Plate winners Contejus Hurricanes, 3-2. They missed out on a debut final though going out 2-0 to 2Goals1Cup in the Semi-Finals.

Charlie Let Us Down Again were making their debut appearance in eurofootballfives.com action and we looked forward to seeing them in action.

It was We've Got Wood who started off the faster in this game as Richard Jones scored twice in the first half to put We've Got Wood in control. Charlie Duckworth pulled a goal back for Charlie Let Us Down Again in the second half but We've Got Wood held on to secure the 2-1 victory.

Match 2 in Group D saw Old Sedcopians Legends (Eng) versus Brioche FS (Spa).

Old Sedcopians Legends were the second of the two Old Sedcopians teams in the tournament draw but the first to kick-off on the field of play. They started pretty well against a good Brioche FS side and found themselves 0-0 at the break.

Brioche FS made their debut at the 2014 Mallorca Tournament and lost 6-2 in their opening game but it was against the eventual winners Cheesecake FC. They followed this up with a 5-0 win over Taylor's Tigers before slipping to a 6-1 defeat to Universidad Palma. They finished on a high with a 1-0 win over Kazbar FC to finish 3 rd in the group and qualify for the Plate. A 3-1 win over Son Gual (Spa) in the Quarter-Finals and a 4-0 win over The A Team (Fra) in the Semi-Finals saw them through to a debut final. They were victorious 3-1 over Athletic 8Minute Bilbao to collect the silverware. At the 2015 tournament they finished 2 nd in Group A on goal difference having collected 4 wins and 1 draw. They then drew 0-0 with ZVC Indoor Gent of Belgium in the Quarter-Finals before going out 3-2 on penalties.

In the second period the goals flowed for Brioche FS who rattled in 3 goals from Migui Las, Pau Bujosa and Cheema Molina to collect a 3-0 win and all 3 points.

The last two teams to get underway were Policia Local and St Paul's College Old Boys 3rd Team.

Policia Local de Mallorca won our first ever Mallorca Tournament (2011) when they defeated Ecuador's Quayaquil 100% in an entertaining final, 5-2. In 2012 they found the competition tougher finishing 3rd in their group behind Sportsman Arenal and FC Radbroke (2011 Prague Masters and 2013 Algarve Open winners). They then went out 2-0 in the Cup Quarter-Finals, in a quirk of fate, as they drew Sportsman Arenal again. In the 2013 Mallorca Fives in May they failed to qualify for the Cup for the first time and went out in the Plate Semi-Finals. Normal service was resumed in June 2013's Mallorca Tournament as they won Group B but were surprisingly knocked out at the Quarter-Final stage, 2-1, by Tommy's Tits. In 2015 they finished Group B in 3rd place with 3 wins and 2 defeats and qualified for the Cup as one of the best third placed finishers. They defeated Son Gual 2-1 in the QF before a 5-0 defeat to eventual winners – Saipan FC (Ire). Can they win that elusive 2nd tournament in 2016?

They started off well against St Paul's College Old Boys 3rd Team but neither team could make a breakthrough as we had a 0-0 draw at half-time. In the second half Antonio Bullon Pujol broke the deadlock to put Policia Local 1-0 up. He then added a second to secure the victory.
