Next
up was the big game in Group B – Peluqueria
Mariano versus Mallorca Look. We had two teams
with 100% records, both had been free-scoring
with 19 goals and 20 goals respectively. Both
defences had been pretty good with Peluqueria
Mariano conceding just the one goal whilst Mallorca
Look had conceded four.
Whoever
won this game would be overwhelming favourites
to win Group B with just one game to go. Should
the game finish in a draw then it was likely
this group would be decided upon goal difference
in the final round of fixtures.
The
game proved to be a very tight contest and it
was perhaps no surprise that the teams could
not be separated in the first half. A Guti Aberto
(Peluqueria Mariano) goal and Miguel Lopez (Mallorca
Look) goal cancelled each other out.
In
the second half we had three goals to savour
and it was Peluqueria Mariano who claimed the
victory as Rafael Ribero's double outgunned
Diego Torres' strike for Mallorca Look.
Peluqueria
Mariano maintained their 100% record and were
now Group B champions elect. Mallorca Look were
still well placed in 2nd and looked odds on
to take the second place in the Cup qualification
place.
