FC
Shark and Forn De N'aine came into the game
in third and fourth respectively. A win for
either team would see them qualify for the Cup
in second (automatically) or third (as one of
the two best third placed teams) on 9 points.
Defeat would mean fourth and the Plate. A draw
would mean FC Shark finishing third with 7 points
and possibly enough to make the Cup (depending
on what happened in Group C).
With
two teams level in the table at this stage of
proceedings it was perhaps no surprise to see
the teams well matched and nothing could separate
them at the half-time whistle, 0-0. As things
stood, it favoured FC shark but both teams would
look to get a winner. For Forn De N'aina it
was essential.
Just
the one goal would decide this and after the
break it was Manuel Torres Castano's goal that
would prove the difference. It was the only
goal he would score all day but what a crucial
time to get it and what a valuable goal it would
prove. It meant that his team leapfrogged FC
Shark into third place and would qualify for
the Cup.
The
defeat consigned FC Shark to the Plate. As it
turned out, a 0-0 draw would have seen them
into the Cup. They were moments away from their
first Cup appearance.
