Spider
Mans & Mighty Falcon were back on the field
next against Paralytic Athletic. The former
had lost in their opening game so were looking
to bounce back quickly and put some points on
the Group B table. Paralytic Athletic were looking
to build upon a solid opening draw.
We
only briefly touched upon Paralytic Athletic's
history on our tournaments in Round 1 so let's
expand on this here in Round 2. They began their
association with eurofootballfives.com in July
last year. They appeared in the 2016 Amsterdam
Fives and made an impressive debut. They secured
3 wins and 9 points from their group fixtures
as they finished 2nd in Group A. They qualified
for the prestigious Cup competition and claimed
the scalp of Spider Man 1s in the Quarter-Finals
with a 1-0 victory. They were up against a very
good Benecke side in the Semi-Finals and took
the game all the way to penalties after a 2-2
draw in normal time. Benecke went on to win
the shoot-out and the tournament as a whole.
Teams should look out for Paralytic Athletic
in Budapest.
Could
Spider Mans & Mighty Falcon avenge the defeat
of their Eagles squad in that Amsterdam Quarter-Final?
If they were to do so they would need to do
it from a goal behind as Alexander Wood opened
Paralytic Athletic's goalscoring account for
the day in the opening period.
A
second goal from Nanda McCarthy after the break
ensured that Paralytic Athletic would be victorious.
They took all 3 points with a 2-0 win and 4
points from 6 represented a good start for them.
