East
Compton Eagles (Eng) have tasted eurofootballfives.com
action on three previous occasions. They made
their debut at our inaugural Berlin Fives tournament
in 2012. They had two sides “Eagles” and “Seagulls”.
The Eagles finished joint top (and level with
the eventual Runners-Up) of their group and
made the Cup Semi-Finals where they went out
to the eventual winners, Rigford Seahawks. At
the 2013 Mallorca Fives they had another successful
group phase as they topped Group B ahead of
2012 Valencia Fives champions FC Miracle (Hun).
East Compton Eagles run in Mallorca ended at
the hands of two-times eurofootballfives.com
winners Skidmarks in the Cup Semi-Finals.
They
were last seen in action at the 2014 Amsterdam
Fives where they finished second of six teams
in Group A between 3 x eurofootballfives.com
winners Athletico Do Hollande. They drew Melee
FC (2 x eurofootballfives.com finalists) in
the Cup Quarter-Finals and finished 2-2 at the
end of normal time. They exited the tournament
in a penalty shoot-out.
Their
return to eurofootballfives.com football would
be against Always Short. Always Short had some
squad issues prior to the tournament with their
squad of 6 reduced to 4 fit players able to
take the field. We recruited 3 loan signings
to bolster their numbers but it would take time
for the new team-mates to gel. They began pretty
well though and took a point after a battling
0-0 draw.
