Round 4 of Group A began with the only England versus England game in Group A. Aston Carter needed to pick up points sooner rather than later to enhance their challenge. A couple of wins now and they could still potentially make the Cup. DYDDFC needed a win to move into 3rd and their Cup challenge was very much on.

The team in 5th at the start of the game opened the scoring as Tom Ogan found the net to the relief of all concerned with Aston Carter FC. It was a goal they deserved over the course of the morning's play although DYDDFC would probably not agree as it came against them.

They led 1-0 at half-time and when Matt Melia made it 2-0 in the second period, Aston Carter's first victory of the day looked assured. There was no way back for DYDDFC but they would stay in 4th . Aston Carter would remain in 5 th but they had closed the gap on the teams above them to bring them back into the mix.

So far today ABC United had matched Budapest Celtic Tigers every step of the way at the top of Group A – both had 3 wins out of 3, both were yet to concede and it was only goal difference that separated them. Something had to give.

In this top of the table clash it was ABC United who struck first when Robert Florin Matei scored his second of the day to give his team a crucial 1-0 lead. It was the only goal of the first half as Budapest Celtic Tigers stayed in touching distance. The second goal of the game was all-important in deciding the points as it was scored by Razvan Brasoveanu claimed it to give ABC United a 2-0 lead and with it victory and all 3 points. The Romanians maintained their 100% record and guaranteed Cup qualification.

They had also inflicted a first group phase defeat on the Budapest Celtic Tigers whose run of 11 unbeaten games had come to an end. Things still looked healthy for them with a two point lead on the team in third. At the very least you would expect them to qualify for the Cup still as one of the best 3rd placed teams.

Stani's Mates collected their 3 points in the 3-0 walkover against Ujpest RK which saw them sit in a promising position in 3rd but with work to do.
