There were 6 games remaining in Group B and the teams each had two more chances to determine their fate in the knock-out phase. Rapid B Pavas and L'Albiceleste kicked off Round 4 as the 2008 champions faced the 2017 champions.

L'Albiceleste's most recent performance was at the 2019 Alicante Tournament. They were involved in one of the most incredible group tables we've ever seen. In a 6-team group, there were 4 teams locked together on 10 points in joint first. Despite a goal difference of 8-2 this was only good enough to finish fourth in the table. For the first time they missed out on the Cup. In the Plate competition they defeated The Mavericks (1-0) in the Quarter-Finals and AC Motxo International (2-1) in the Semi-Finals. In the final they drew 1-1 against Alicounty but missed out on silverware due to a 4-3 defeat in the penalty shoot-out.

The French team were looking good to qualify for the Cup this year and results had been built on a solid defence with none conceded. Rapid B Pavas conceded 3 early goals but had now gone 2.5 games without conceding. Perhaps the writing was on the wall that this game would finish 0-0….and it did.

Congratulations to David Garcia Gallego (Rapid B Pavas) and Fateh Bekhouche (L'Albiceleste) and their respective defences. They were doing a fine job.

Polonia Limerick were next up as they hosted Norfolk N Chance. The former found themselves down in fifth position but they had just picked up their first win and were now just one win away from moving up to joint second and going level with their opponents.

Norfolk N Chance had gone win-win-loss today with that loss against the league leaders. If they could return to winning ways they would go within one point of L'Albiceleste with the French team dropping two points in the previous game.

It was normal service resumed for Norfolk N Chance as the goals started to flow again. Josh Sullivan was the man who lead the way to make it 1-0 and then 2-0. They were his third and fourth of the tournament. Joe Sames then made it 3-0 and then 4-0 with his fourth and fifth goals of the tournament. Both men were up amongst the leaders for the golden boot award.

Norfolk N Chance had one foot in the Cup competition……

The first of Littleborough FC's final 2 games was next on Pitch D as they faced BBA Veterans. Littleborough FC would have been disappointed coming into this – they lost their first two games and there was no disgrace in that to the top two. Last time out they lead 1-0 before losing 3-1 which would no doubt sap the confidence.

BBA Veterans were last here at the Barcelona Fives in 2019. They had two squads. Ospina Coladas did well to finish 3 rd in a 6 team group. Only previous title winners FC Miracle (Hun) and Club Esportiu Llefia (Spa) finished above them. It meant Plate qualification and Quarter Final success with victory on pens after a 2-2 draw with VNV of the Netherlands. They then met Latvia's FK Aliance in the Semis and would go to pens again after a 1-1 draw but this time the spot kicks did not go their way. Agger Diouf Diouf Diouf fared even better with 5 wins out of 5 in Group D scoring 16 goals and conceding just 2. It was a first Cup qualification where they drew the 2012 champions, Black Sheep. It was the Spanish side who progressed, 3-0.

BBA Veterans had their work cut out to reach the Cup again but it was definitely possible. They had 4 points so far but if they could finish win-win the Cup was in reach. They had to win this though but scoring goals had been their achilles' heel today. It proved to be so again as they were unable to penetrate the Littleborough FC defence.

Credit to Littleborough FC but they also found the BBA Veterans defence in fine form – a second successive clean sheet for BBA. It was honours even, 0-0.
