The game itself was played with a great atmosphere as the other teams all assembled pitch-side to watch the show-piece game of the day. They witnessed two evenly matched teams who remarkably had exactly the same amount of goals scored and conceded throughout the day. It was Norfolk N Chance who got off to the faster start though as Joe Sames put his team 1-0 up. It was his ninth goal of the tournament. As an aside, the goal helped clinch Sames the award of tournament top scorer so many congratulations to Joe on a fine personal performance throughout the day. He was obviously hoping for team honours as well and Norfolk N Chance took a step closer to the title when Josh Sullivan scored his fifth of the day. At half-time Norfolk N Chance were well on their way to silverware.

After the break the two teams looked a little tired (it was their 8 th game of the day) and Norfolk N Chance struggled to keep possession like they had done so in the first half. It enabled FC Yol to carve out a couple of half chances and Seb Campbell came close with a half-chance that just went wide. Moments later, Campbell did get on the scoresheet to reduce the deficit but ultimately it proved too late as the referee's final whistle drew the Cup Final and the 2022 Barcelona Fives to a close.

We offer our commiserations to FC Yol who had come so close to victory – they'd been on a stunning run until just coming up short at the final hurdle. They were a great addition to the tournament on and off the pitch. Hopefully next time it will be them collecting the winners' medals.

Our congratulations go to Norfolk N Chance on their first eurofootballfives.com victory! The first English winners since 2016 and only the second English victory in 12 attempts since 2011. It was an amazing achievement and a stunning debut.

We'd like to thank all the teams who participated and for their contribution in making this tournament such a joy to host. It was great to see so many of you for beers at the post-tournament social. It was yet another joyous weekend in Barcelona….see you all again soon.
